Everyone knows that KO makers talks in engrish, and most of the time use some random and crazy words however, this was completely unexpected, specially since its pretty much only used in the fandom (for combiners): got it today, its an oversized RM Star Saber
They made a bootleg of Robotmasters Victory Saber? What's the quality like? And Where can I ghet one?
KO makers must read the message boards, I swear I saw a KO that said "Send the books" on the card once.
I asked the same question once. Here's the response I received: As far as I know, "Send the Books!" is no more than a case of randomly using an English phrase (a horrible mistranslation, no idea what originally) on a bootleg Transformer's packaging. Found it! Yay Google! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v43/Mercurion/merc04/sendthebooks.jpg
I thought he circled that picture because of the use of the word gestalt. It may be the only time that word has been used outside of fandom.
I think it makes sense in context. Most of the words on that box look European, and Gestalt is a German word. It's just a coincidence that we've been calling combiners "gestalts" for years Also, I would definitely buy an oversized RM Star/Victory Saber, cos the only thing I didnt like about the RM molds was how small they were. If I have a Victory Saber, I want it to be huge like the original!
Yes, that's why we've been using it for years. But nobody else ever has. Takaratomy, Hasbro, Bandai, none of them.
I always thought that "send the books" wasnt on the actual packaging of that thing, but that the seller photoshopped it into the image, like a watermark or something. it's not even aligned with the logo that it's above.
IIRC, when someone posted the link for the first Grand Convoy KO, everyone saw the "Send the books" and became an instant board meme (like tocas) i got today the oversized Victory Leo, quality is pretty decent for both, with some pieces loose as hell (Wich could be fixed with super glue), and some pieces molded in different colors (like the white pieces on saber, being blue), but overall pretty nice Each one is about the size of Classics Jetfire, and for $15 each, i cant complain! there are LOTS of em down here, excelent for kitbashing
Well, not quite. Various store listings had the Energon combiner components all labelled with a "G", for unexplained reasons.
