    Just saying ;)

Obviously articulated generic hands for different size classes would be great

Also, kits for recent figures with just one hand (Human Alliance BB & Barricade im looking at you!)

Have already tried it. Am getting some of the tolerances and pegs and sockets to work, when I'm done, I'll let you know.

I'm sure other designers out there will be doing/have done the same thing. It's not exactly that difficult.

I was going to design them and have someone else do the modeling (ball joints were to be avoided for more durable pin holes) but my move has halted any more custom work aside from what I have going now.

Shapeways hands will not work out well. The material they use will not stand up to the stresses employed on them. They use 3D printers that "layer" material like a pastry. It is not very strong. Now, if you wanted to get shapeways to make a one off of and pair of hand that you would then mold and cast, that may work.

There are several people that cast all sizes of generic hands from resin for figures.... like myself for one..... :)

    Directly from his post:

The problem is, this will get progressively worse as time goes on and the joints are moved. Anyone that has held a shapeways product can attest to this.

I can. 100%. they do great work, but I would never use a SW product directly on my customs.

The idea I was going to go through involved prototyping with shapeways making a pin based hand on the spur then making a mold and casting it.

I have no PM from you. When did you send it? Also please know that I am answering 20+ PM a day, so it may take a few days to get back to you. I am literally 100 orders deep now.

Can you design it with pegs to allow articulation? Didn't think they could do that level of work, that it was only mold based and no moving parts.
