Based on the sound and the movement of the body of the copter, I'm gonna say someone was having a little fun with some creative editing.

He's really, really good. Using the collective pedals (think that's what they're called) to adjust his direction while relying on wind currents to keep him aloft--see the back rotor?

I've seen it done before at air shows, but never for that long. I've been told you can do it in the right circumstances, but you wouldn't want to try to land like that, since as altitude drops so do updrafts.

I didn't even know helicopters could do that. He'd have to have a pretty strong airflow over the blades, wouldn't he?

My guess would have been more along the lines of the main rotor syncing up to the video capture frequency, but for that long?

My father flew Hueys, Chinhooks, and Cobras for years, and from what he's told me, it's extremely difficult and you need very unique circumstances to sorta-hover like that.

But yeah, I just saw the helicopter and didn't think about the computer part. It's definitely possible--hell, even likely--that's it just video tricks.
