As far as I know, the fandom in general is not overpopulated with people who go on and on and on about liking stuff like it is with people who constantly bitch about everything. When that changes, maybe I'll have cause to say something about them instead. You're right about at least one thing though. I am selective. I've only been critical of certain complaints and for certain reasons, not of all complaints in general.

Where did I accuse you personally of getting worked up over this? Now that you mention it though, viciously attacking people who criticize some of the complaints with accusations of hypocricy and the like does seem some indication.

Thanks for putting more words in my mouth. I myself have said that I would have liked a plain red and blue cab-over-engine truck better. I have commented that I think it would be really stupid if Bumblebee never talks properly. I am not a "defender of the faith". This movie could be awesome or it could be complete crap. I don't know yet. There have been many things in the past that tons of people said were going to suck based on a lot more confirmed factual information than we've got about this movie that turned out to be great--including things related to the TransFormers franchise.

Some of those sound like good examples to me. Lashing out at people repeatedly for not agreeing without paying any attention to what they actually say might be another. I would think that the more exaggerated the hyperbole is, the greater the odds of an upset poster. I'm not criticizing people for being upset though. I'm criticizing people for flying off the handle, jumping to irrational conclusions, and making accusations about the people making this move--and now accusations about people calling for a bit more rationality and patience, apparently.

 

I think at the end of the day most fans would like:

* Optimus Prime to be red and blue (not saying he won't!)
* Bumblebee to talk normally (again, not saying he won't!)
* For the robots to look more blocky (again, not saying they won't.. we don't know much at this point!!!)

That said, I think many people can step back and say "hey, what I want may not work for what they're going for.. so while it may not be EVERYTHING I want, I'll try to enjoy it.". Very few things in life go EXACTLY the way you want them to go.

The new movie may rock. It may suck. What many of us are saying though is simply this: we know just enough to know there will be a film out July 7th, 2007. Outside of that, most everything else is speculation, conjecture and snippets of facts. Sit back and enjoy. We're riders on this train, not the conductors.

Someone at Don Murphy said he was tired of the secrecy and that Cullen is indeed Prime, but only because Bay thinks that it allows him to do with Prime what he wants. 

 

Well, if that's true than great. However, I'll see what happens later. Of course, alot of those guys say alot of crap so who knows?

As for Bay thinking he can control Cullen (assuming that the rumor is true) than I'd say that he needs to look at the guys history. There were things that he absolutely refused to do on the G1 show, because it just didn't seem like "Prime" to him. Of course, the whole rumor could be total BS, but it'd be great wouldn't it.

Besides hating Bay is the thing to do in this fandom at the moment.Most of the people are just jumping on the bandwaggon to gain acceptance
