I sold this guy a pretty bogus MISB Fangry not so long ago for 120 dollars or so. Now he's trying to sell it for more than double the amount. sigh.... Well, I can tell you: It's not worth 250 dollars. http://cgi.ebay.com/Transformers-G1...oryZ4696QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
What do you mean by pretty bogus? If it is a real MISB figure, it may be worth that much to someone. He is willing to hold onto it and risk the time and listing fees to have it not sell. And I don't see how someone who is buying and reselling in the secondary market is a horrible scalper. Secondary market is worth what what someone will pay at any given time.
Yigal is saying he owned it and sold it to the guy obviously thinking it was a suspect MISB and now the new seller is claiming its legit
oooh, so Yigal sold it as NOT a MISB or a MISB that was known to be fake and he is saying it is legit? If The guy bought it under the assumption it was MISB then he is gonna sell it as MISB and blame the previous seller.
Methinks someone doesn't understand what the definition of "scalper" is.... Even with all the debate there is on that issue, this simply... isn't scalping.
It's bogus because the box is litteraly falling appart. Discolouration, tape almost falling of, amazing creases on the whole box. You name it, it's there I sold him the MISB for 120 dollars, because it's simply isn't worth more. So I say it's scalping because he's trying to get double the actual worth + he payd 1/2 the price last week
Ok... so it technically is a sealed box and the little dude is mint in there. The box is just not in good condition. Your impression of how much it is worth is irrelevant. He has the right to try to sell it for whatever he wishes because he owns it. It is his risk and if no one buys it, so be it. His loss. I don't agree it is scalping or that he is doing anything wrong. If someone really wants that and is willing to pay that price, more power to him.
That is exaclty what it sounds like. I hurts alittle when I sell something to someone and they end up selling it for a higher price, but its their toy, they can do whatever they please. plus......i do it too.
By "bogus", he means "crappy", like how we used to use it in the early 1990's and how Bill and Ted use it in the Bill and Ted Movies. You've looked at the pictures, right? That thing probably isn't even worth the $150 he sold it for, let along the $250 being asked for it.
Might Gaine is exactly right. I don't care much about a few bucks extra. I'm just letting out a warning that the auction is not worth the money.
Neither of them are scalping. Reselling vintage toys is not scalping. Scalping is when you go to the store and buy out all the Animated toys or Wal-Mart exclusives to resell on Ebay the same day.
Scalping......na, maybe playing up the condition. Still the question is, will who ever purchases it be happy. As long as the buyer is happy who is to say what it's worth. Reselling Transformers especially vintage is up in the air as to the value. As was stated before, it's worth what someone is willing to pay. I personally agree, it's not worth the asking price but if he gets it and the buyer is happy more power to him.
Quoted for the awsome truth lol (i need a pic to use when someone tells the truth....time to commission a pic of headmaster megatron and turn it into a sig lol)
Too bad there was no scalping going on in this thread. It seems anytime someone is charging more than what someone personally would like to pay they scream 'scalpur!'
