During the comic Q & A session at Auto Assembly yesterday Simon Furman briefly mentioned some of what is in store for the Beast Wars Profile books and beyond.

    - The profile books will include all the toys released in the US, both show characters and non-show characters. The bonus, though, is that they will also include the characters from the Japanese series, Beast Wars Second and Beast Wars Neo! Beast Machines, though, won't be included but Simon said it is still going to be in continuity.

    - Regarding the Vok, Simon said that they won't see the printed page for the time being.

    - Dinobots! Asked if we'd see any more of the G1 Dinobots in Beast Wars, Simon said not the G1 style Dinobots, but we will see "Beast Wars style" Dinobots. He also hinted that we'll be seeing them fairly soon, in the upcoming Shockwave one shot.

Simon and the rest also talked about the G1 style mini for a little while, but mostly it's nothing we've not heard before. Infiltration, though, is Simon's favourite TF-related piece of work as he gets to write from a clean slate, rather than picking up an existing thread from someone else as he has done in the past with Armada, Generation One, and even to a degree The War Within.

David Kaye was great, by the way. It was really nice to meet the man himself, Wreckgar, you might be pleased to know he'll be voicing Iron Man on the new Fantastic Four series!

I took a good number of photos, you can check them out here:

Unfortunately Geoff couldn't make it, a personal commitment came up at the last minute. He was as annoyed about missing the convention as anyone else apparently.

Unlikely, just like how the G1 MTMTE book didn't have Cybertron modes for applicable characters

That's pretty cool that they'll be able to do BW2/Neo profiles. I wonder though, why can IDW use those guys, when Dreamwave couldn't use Japanese characters unless they had some sort of toy released by Hasbro?

David Kaye is a great choice to voice Iron Man. Robert Hays is the definitive voice of Shellhead for me, having voiced him in 90's animated "Iron Man", "The Incredible Hulk", and "Spider-Man", but I'll see what Kaye can do with the role.

I'm very excited about the profile books. Seems like there will have to be at least four issues, with all the characters. Any confirmation of number of issues or release month?
