There's a pretty good discussion going on over at dvdtalk. Some guy name **** is involved with the movie somehow and has storyboards/art (does not post any of them, but gives us details) from the movie. The page on the thread is where he starts revealing and answering questions. Heres the linkhttp://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=298312&page=13&pp=25

What's interesting is that he's obviously not a Transformers fan, otherwise he'd leave out some details that obviously will rile up all the big fans.

The only point I'll take away from his posts is that Soundwave isn't called Soundwave anymore - not that you'll necessarily ever hear his name in the movie anyway. . .

Good find, I saw this the other night.

I can only hope what he said about there being a lack of any human facial attributes, except for the eyes, was untrue.

Looks like Save Ferris is a Chi-Town boy (appropriate, given the name), I wonder if I could talk him into letting me look at his stuff. I'll buy him a lap dance at the Admiral if need be.

I noticed that there is a guy on their boards by the name of Draven, but I don't guess its TFW's Draven...

Protoform's probably just a description for their states when they come to earth ('robotic exoskeletons without vehicle parts'), while Stryker/Demolisher are probably Decepticon cannon fodder (and they're probably codenames as well).

As for no noses and mouths...Perhaps he saw a concept of Prime? Bumblebee could be a candidate as well, with the whole 'Mutebee' thing.

And I like the 'overly complicated' comment, but I wonder how it's going to look...Probably like the Transtech concepts.

If we say that Stryker = Vortex & Demolisher = Devestator, then we've heard all of these before. I don't think Protoform is a TF character, exactly (as noted above).

The characters that have to talk to humans will have mouths.

    :D

And appearantly Jazz is a Pontiac:

It could work, depending on the model. I could definately see a car like this work for him: http://www.kris.1000lecie.pl/dream1/2006%20Pontiac%20Solstice-fVl%20at%20show=mx=.jpg

Just FYI: He was talking about a different board. But we should respect his wishes and not post him name anywhere else. Dont wanna see anyone get into trouble for giving us some info.

Rather that then him getting fired (if he isn't going to be already).

And the 'insectoid faces' thing: Maybe it's the only way they could realistically do the faces, without pulling an I-Robot? The faces could exist of several layers so that they would indeed appear alien when static, but when they're speaking/emoting the motions could resemble that of humans, making them recognizeable.

I don't blame the guy for "clamming up". He probably shouldn't be leaking info anyway. Not that I'm not curious myself, but the guy could loose his job over it. I've had to keep quiet about the few film projects I've worked on. Most of the time, you need to get permission just to show or talk about any of that kind of work. It's usually work for hire stuff, so it doesn't belong to the guy who worked on it.

    No mouths? hmmm...

For some reason I'm imagining the faces to have a similar aesthetic to RID Prowl, I can see that fitting in what we know of the type of robot we'll be seeing

hmm just an idea i dont think that no-boxes necessarily means everything is beast wars round, but rather lots and lots of angles and cool armor shapes like on the Bumblebee we saw.

Well, I guess I'll throw this totally unsubstantiated rumor into the pot:

While I was browsing various forums, I saw a thread about the Transformers Movie where a guy had claimed that a friend of his was working on the film.

He claimed to have heard that Spielberg wasn’t happy with Bay’s current designs for the Transformers and wanted him to start over on them.

And he also claimed that Spielberg was involved with creating the new designs.

    end of rumor
