first off, I Hope this is the right place for this....

I wanted to post some WIP pics of some custom G1 boxes I am working on.
and get some opinions on them

I usually customize the bots themselves, but I need some boxes to display
my loose figures in and so I started to making my own, right now they are
little more than artwork, but when I get some posterboard, and some ink
then I can get to it and make a test print box, I somewhat made one, but
it consisted of gluing printed artwork to an existing misc. box I found for
my Ultra Magnus, but the art for these boxes make that look bad....
below though is my updated artwork for his new box.

Universe / G1 inspired, the Springer box I am trying to find better more modern
    art.

    EDIT:
I have posted pics of the finished boxes, they are prototypes so forgive the
crudeness, I also used way too thick posterboard, and didn't cut Blitzwing's
widow out right...but I am working on perfecting the system. I have aother boxes in the works, but no pics yet

These are definitely looking nice, but as of right now, it's 2-D artwork.

Twin Twist and Magnus stand out for me, but they're all great.

    Two things:
    1. Topspin is one word. In spite of that, very, very, cool.
    2. Let me know when you decide to tackle Cassette cards, like the many G1 2-packs. I want to make a fantasy card for Rosanna (Kiss Player) and an Autobot cassette prototype made from one of the KO Laserbeaks.
    3. Springer is fine the way he is. The only thing better than his animation model-inspired box art would be a caption from the movie (or Call of the Primitives) itself.

I have posted pics, I actually finished a few prototypes a few months back, and never posted the pics...I know they are rough, but they are my first takes.

first off the posterboard was way too thick, I will use thinner stock next time.
second, I screwed up when I cut out Blitz's window.
and I will clearcoat the finished pieces on the final pieces to preserve the
print, I tried using acrylic clearcoat on the paper and it worked great.

Since your project utilizes both Fan Art and Customs, I've simply copied the necessary posts for the customs forum, thus creating a new thread, too. If you have additional 2-D artwork for your boxes, feel free to post the artwork here. If you have more photos of your boxes, or other 3-D artwork, simply use the thread in Customs :)

2D or 3D, these are most impressive. I tried making a custom box once.

    Well, tried. :p
