http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/columns/story?id=3235726 I love the look of the medals. The "Bird's Nest" looks pretty cool. But the coolest thing I have to say is the "Water Cube." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beijing_National_Aquatics_Centre I'm really thinking about going this summer now.
I really want to visit china, after Olympic of course, can't imagine myself being squeeze to death by the mighty red armies if I walk on the street.
Did a wiki of PLA, sounds scary. But then, I kinda enjoy their propaganda posters, look funny as all faces, be it women or men, look like Mao.
While I do appreciate that it spells out Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni (Beijing welcomes you,) I really am scared to see what they look like. China has a bad track record when it comes to mascots.
http://extvia.deviantart.com/art/Bei-Jing-Huan-Ying-Ni-71626914 Clearer and prettier version by other artist, self drawn, at least this gives description what kind of mascots they are. Oh yes, before you click, if you kinda dislike furries, then consider this NSFW.
W. T. F. Oh and another thing I'm fearing? The opening ceremony. I have a feeling that they're going to somehow incorporate modern Peking Opera into it. If they do, I am putting the tv on mute. Also, I can picture the lines of little children with caked on makeup with their fake smiles screaming "HUAN YING! HUAN YING!"
