    I wonder how long it will be before the price of something like this comes down to "general consumer" level.

    It looks like soon there will be no moving parts inside a computer except for cooling fans.

    Microsoft converted all their build labs over to solid state drives a while ago. Before that, the drives were dying every few months from constant, intense usage.

    I can see that. I work on video games (arcade, not home console) and we have at least one failure a week if not more where the only problem is the harddrive has failed and needs to be replaced.
