It is like what they did with Darkmount by picking something that references the original. I'm going to guess that "Solar Storm" would refer to Grapple's Solar Power Tower in the G1 episode "The Master Builders."

I'm happy for all the Grapple fans, looks like a great figure. But that's the WORST name for an existing character I think I've ever seen.

Wow. I love him... Only thing I don't understand is why the head needed changed. Inferno and Grapple had the same head on the original toys, didn't they? In any case, I can't wait for this guy!
speaking of which i like to see toys that are being released with only nmae as motormaster, grapple, tracks i have not seen any toys that are named with trasnformers names such as ones listed above or anyothers that need to be renamed for tha matter. he looks good grey windows i can live that hell be in bot mode anyway i may decide to take crane off since it sticks out to far

To everyone that hates the names, there's a simple solution that anyone can do at home: Take the figure out of the box.
The name doesn't have "Autobot" in front of it because it's under the "Reveal the Shield" moniker. It would give away what the shield is even though we already know what faction he is. It's also the same reason Special Ops Jazz isn't called Autobot Jazz. As far as the figure is concerned, I think it's a great repaint/remold. I'll definitely be getting him.
they need to do what they did with Jazz. Autobot Grapple. Or even Transformer Grapple. I'm thinking the marketing dept and business dept at Hasbro are a bit inept at everything. Luckily that means some great deals for the rest of us.
Wouldn't everyone just shit if they got Jazz, Grapple, or Tracks and rubbed their "shield" only to reveal that they're a Decepticon?
