Seeds Of Deception continues, as another fragment of the Golden Age is unveiled: Starscream's first mission turns him into a hero, but not without a price. And who should know this better than Silverbolt and Jetfire? Art by Tomoko, story by Franco and Peter, edits by J.Z. Belexes. Read the entire story so far in the tfw2005 gallery: SoD: Starscream. Main project thread.
So awesome - Screamer and Jetfire's friendship was based on lies right from the start. Fantastic characterization.
I thought this would be a nice surprise for you, Franco: Seeds of Deception Chapter 9 - Seeds of Deception - TFW2005.COM
Some notes. Page 4. Special guests in panel 1: Ultra Impactor; Huffer (from page 3); Nightbeat. Panel 3: Jhiaxus, the creator of the Protoform Batches, as revealed in SoD: Omega Supreme and SoD: Sentinel Prime. Jhiaxus' destiny was revealed in Spotlight: Galvatron, Devastation and Revelation. In panel 4, for the first time, the story focuses on the details of an actual Liberation Mission. See SoD: Shockwave/Soundwave for more details. The Cybertronians in Starscream's team are: Windsweeper, Darkwing, Powerglide. Page 5. The Cybertronian spaceship shown in panels 1 and 2 was first seen in G1 Marvel US #78. The mission leader is Silverbolt. After Dreadwing, there is a cameo for Dreadwind. They are both based on their Stormbringer designs. Page 6. Jetfire is based on his War Within: The Dark Ages model. Jetfire will appear very soon in his own story (almost): SoD: Jetfire/Grimlock. The Jetfire/Starscream partnership is a nod to the classic G1 cartoon episode "Fire In The Sky". Page 7. After the spaceship, here is another tribute to Andrew Wildman and his great G1 Marvel run: Starscream's relaxed pose, reminiscent of Grimlock in the classic G1 Marvel US #79. Already heard of planet S'imon? You should, since it was mentioned in The Shape Of Things To Come. Starscream's eye in panel 3 is a not to the eye design for the Transformers in the recent movies: TFTM07 and RotF. More art by Tomoko, more Kup and more nods to classic Transformers in the recently published (Short Story: Remembrances) (with exclusive variant art!). Next: after many other missions, the Liberation Epoch is over and Starscream is back on Cybertron, where he works as a... policemech?! The life of science felons like Scorponok and irresponsible industrialists like Ratbat has just gotten harder. Or is it?
