Not surprising. Society has to blame something for its faults and shortcomings. Looks like it's Facebook and MySpaces' turn.

According to scientists, what is good for you anymore besides oatmeal? Can't play with toys, cuase they got lead paint. Can't play outside, because of smog and sunburn. Can't go to the beach, because of sewage dumping in our waters. Can't Play video games, because it makes kids shoot people. I'm tired of all the "this is what's bad for you news." Why don't news sites ever broadcast good news anymore.

OH! I didn't notice that! Well, if the Daily Hate Mail thinks something is worth hating on, then all the more reason to do it. :D

One of the first kids I knew who grew up heavy on computer learning actually pointed like a mouse pointer in real life- like, his hand would turn sideways and he pointed diagonally down towards whatever he pointed at. He was an odd boy. I think that was an exception and I just wanted to share.

On the point of the thread and article, people through the ages have new things introduced in there lives and they have to think and live differently to work around it. It isn't surprising or new, and if it turns out to be a truly bad things, people will grow away from it or it becomes a bad habit.

I must admit though that I'm not a big fan of the way these sites are often used. I made a myspace account back when I was in college and used it to network and communicate. That was back before everyone and their nieces started using it. Then, well, everyone and their nieces started using it mostly as attention grabbing tools for the opposite sex. It's humiliating to see my family members and friends doing these pitiful stunts for attention. I haven't started a facebook account just because I don't want to see more of that.

And don't forget, according to scientists there isn't a food or activity on the face of the planet that doesn't raise the risk of cancer. It's not cause you're getting older or anything though, obviously. ^^

Sunlight is actually a serious health risk if you're over exposed without proper protection.

Most of these shock news articles about the dangers of internetz/vidya games/whatevs come from weaksauce pseudo-scientists (aka psychologists and social researchers) so it's best not to pay attention to them.

They're always finding something that's good or bad for you. Unless they have full proof of their claims, I wouldn't trust a single word they say.
