Eh, no sense jumping the gun, but I agree we have a good two years comming. And, with an inevitable third film (we know Shia & a few of the other actors are signed for three films) I'd say we've probably got another good four or five years ahead of us.

Well, I dunno. Spidey got three films, too (so far,) and the last one didn't make for a "good year," exactly.

Here's hoping they give TF a good run, but don't run it into the ground. :)

As much as a lot of fans hate to admit it, Armada made TFs big again with the kiddies in 2002. It's been a decent-selling toyline since then, and with the Movies bringing it back into the spotlight I'd assume we'll get plenty more years of Transformers glory ahead of us. You never know what the future holds.

I think this is the real G2 for this franchise. This is the time where a whole new batch of people will be sucked into the fandom, the likes of that have only been seen since G1

I agree that the next year or two will be golden...past that we shall see...but some definite soakage going on over here...my pocket book has been hurting the past couple weeks with animated and now for some reason I've gone into a Star Wars kick leading to the purchase of TF-SW figures that I said I would never buy...

But the pocket book is just going to have to hurt...I've waited a long time for a period in TF such as this and I'm not letting it pass by...

As long as the franchise makes money, Hasbro will be able to put more and more effort into it building it up and designing quality figures. I think it would take something very drastic to actually make the franchise sink back down at this point.

I would rather see more TF movies like the original one was done in cartoon form. Much better.

I'm going to enjoy what we have now, and worry about future lines as they happen.

And even then it would have to be the mainline before it started to smeel funny.

Yeah, TFs isn't going downhill anytime soon. (relatively speaking. In two years there's no reason it would just start to suck for no reason)

    Exactly!

Though, I could totally see someone doing that...

New Market Guy: "I've got a totally great new direction for Transformers. What if we do a show where the Transformers, wait for it, DON'T TRANSFORM!?"

    Design Team: ...

    New Market Guy: "What's wrong?"

Random Designer: "Go read about Action Masters and get back with us."

Sure. But to say that those are even remotely as bad as Action Masters is just silly. Not to mention I don't really think of them much in the terms of marketing for two reasons 1) they aren't released by Hasbro or Takara/Tomy & 2) they aren't released state side either. Not to mention they're not a mainline either. Similarly, I wasn't really talking about the Real Robots (or whatever they're called) for the movie using Revoltech joints... they just aren't mainstream enough to have an effect on the market at all. :D

Nah, it will kee better, I'm suer once we complete the trilogy, it would be a rest period, and maybe cast new characters and a whole new crew.

Fair point on the marketing part (in that Hasbro don't actually do Revoltech). But let's face it, they're pretty much now what Action Masters were then. We might bitch about them now, but the idea of Action Masters was to trade the transformation for improved articulation. And we got improved articulation, far better than any other TFs produced at the time. It's just that as it turns out, a few years later (i.e. G2) we discovered ways that we could have near perfect articulation and still have figures that transformed.

But that's just me bitching about the bitching about Action Masters. The point you were making still stands; at the time it was basically them and Micromasters.

    Agreed!

Since Armada came out it has felt like the Golden age of Transformers.
