I know mine will be. I am a contractor for the Navy if tomorrow 9PM PST hits and no resolution has been agreed uppon. I will get a nice furlough voicemail on my phone.  

 

If the US government shut down, then my collecting would take a bit of a blow. Namely because my money would become worthless.

 

Tread carefully, this can become political very fast.

 

No, a government shut-down will not affect your private business transactions. Unless you work for the government, I guess, depending on where. The only services that go on break are those considered "non-essential", so not the military, police, fire department, utilities, mint, etc. It doesn't mean the government doesn't exist anymore.

Similarly, if you live outside the US you will likely notice no change.

 

I'm set to make a pretty penny if the government shuts down for any length of time, so, while I do have sympathy for anyone that will be affected, I should be pretty well taken care of.

 

I don't think that would happen. The way I understand it, only government workers who are not vital to operations, like my sister, and operations for government parks and museums will be affected.

Oh, and tax rebate checks.

 

I think there are deeper problems than peoples toy collections if there is a government shutdown.

I was just trying to ask in a more delicate way who was going to be effected IF!!! the government were to shut down. Let's not hope it happens just courious that's all

 

I work for the gubment as an overglorifed nurse. Luckily the part I work under has been deemed essential.

 

Oh, alright then. If that's how it works, I'd keep wasting my cash.
