I was checking out the Prime toy line when i saw Dreadwing:
    Dreadwing (Prime) - Transformers Wiki

So he's getting a toy before Skyquake. He's Skyquake toy except blue.

So...i know Skyquake came first but I'm thinking most likely Skyquake is Dreadwing's repaint. And Dreadwing is main show and new Con. Who will be Ironhide's counter part (I think i saw were getting Ironhide, right?)

We know anything else about him? (Or Ironhide?)

The Dreadwing I grew up with was a small combiner/powermaster hybrid. Seems like they've changed that on me.

Ironhide was not confirmed for the show, despite him getting a toy. Dreadwing's been described as a Decepticon with shaky values- "doesn't know whether to follow Optimus or Megatron", I think's what they said.

I'm still cranky about his in-show appearance most likely being a Skyquake repaint, but small budgets, I suppose.

What about that fat triple-changing combiner with the big-ass shoulder gun?

Yeah, I was hoping Prime Dreadwing would have been based on that. I'm still holding out hope that the repainted Commander Skyquake is either a mistake or an act of laziness, but in the words of Ben Franklin, "He who lives upon hope, dies fasting".

I miss him too. I had Darkwing and my brother had Dreadwind. God I miss that toy. Darkwing most of all.

    :(

I still have that one, he's...right here. On my shelf.

Which now that we mention that stuff. If you were to ask me 'Who are the heavyest hitters in the G1 Con air-force?" I would have said Dreadwing and Skyqauke. Odd they get the same toy. (But that's just personal opinion)

He won't be a full on Skyquake repaint in the show. The creators even say that we won't see any reused models as main characters.

At the very least I'm sure the in-show model will have a new head.

The Optimus I grew up with was personable, energetic, and didn't seem like a lifeless stiff reading his lines off of a hotel napkin. And he was a gorilla that read books. We all have to adjust.

Why does absolutely everyone keep ignoring that they said that? It's driving me insane.

I don't. Want my theory? No you don't. My guess is that they developed the Skyquake mould for Commander class, but since Skyquake is long dead and Dreadwing is supposed to be coming out they gave the mould to him. (they'll probably both be jets and it's cyberverse so who really cares?) That way they can use the mould for a character that's dead and never coming back, plus they get at least one toy of a new character out roughly in time for his appearence while they make the actual deluxe/voyager/whateverIwasn'tpayingattention mould. Perfect plan.

Oh, I'm not bitching at all, I'm sorry if it seemed like that, it's just that my only experience with the character is from the Marvel G1 comics.

I'm excited to see the new interpretation of Dreadwing, I truly am! Again, I apologise if it seemed like I was bitching, I was just merely musing about what Dreadwing was originally and how he's going to change to fit the show :)

Sorry dude, I was just joking around. I knew you weren't bitching or anything, I was just using your post as a lead-in for another of my soap-box "jokes" at Prime's expense.

    ...

I really do like the show. I swear.

I think he's right. I would be surprized (and happy) if dreadwing has a different 3d model and skyquake has a different toy mold.
