They never mentioned it in the comics and in the movie they made it sound like the gravity pulled him down and he crashed. Though I'll stick with the comic that he landed on the ice and it was too weak to support him. I guess he landed during the Ice Age though in the film they mentioned he'd been there for like 100 years. So c'mon let's speculate shall we?

 

he was chasing the Allspark he knew it was on Earth but when he got closer the electromagnetic field messed up his systems and he landed in the Arctic. After that he crashed through the ice and because he used up all his Energon getting there his systems started shutting off one by one and then he became deactivated.

 

They give the date in the movie for when the allspark crashed - but not for megs. He was probably a couple of hundred years behind it - I'd say still in BC though.

 

I feel like he's been there for a long long long long time.

according to the movie they had carbon dated the cube as having been there for a thousand years, so i seriously doubt that megatron had been there for a few thousand years

 

no they actually said the Cube had been there since 10,000 BC

He was discovered by A. Witwicky in the late 1800s, then moved to Hoover Dam in the 1930s I think

Thats interesting that ALL technology was reversed engineered from Megatron, yet his plan was to get the Allspark and us it to create an army from all of Earths Technology that was created from him????

Megatron's plans was just to get the Allspark, he had no intention of using earth's tech for anything. The *other* Decepticons, under Starscream's command, wanted to use Earth's tech as an army of D'con drones.

And from my understanding, the Allspark was carbon dated to *be* millions of years old, but not on earth for that long. But both it and Megs have been on earth for at least 10,000 years or so. The Hoover Damn was built around the Allspark when it was discovered, and Megatron was moved there in the '30s or so.

 

Yeah, what would Megs do with the Allspark other than make more tfs, which is its purpose, use it as a Rubik's Cube?
