    Ripped off Tom Sawyer?
you could say that about any book written about youth and innocence.
I like To Kill a Mockingbird a lot. Read it on my own in 4th grade. Now, in 8th, having to read The Grapes of Wrath was a chore.
it's a good book, just a chore to slog through.

Found an old Lewis Grizzard book i am reading in short spurts. Don't Bend Over in the Garden Granny, Them Taters Got Eyes. Hilarious book.

I'm almost done reading Harry Turtledove's "Worldwar: In the Balance."

It's a very interesting read. It's an alternate history set during WWII in which alien lizards invade the Earth and everyone -- the Nazis, the Soviets, the Allies, and the Japanese -- end up setting aside their conflict in order to defeat the aliens. This is the first book in the series, and since I'm very interested in WWII and science fiction, I really enjoyed reading this book. I hope to find the rest of the books in the series.

This "good read" book has everything from kidnappings, hijackings, Patty Hearst, WACO, LA Riots, Ruby Ridge, The Cuban Riots, and bringing in white supremacists.

    Bullets, Bombs, and Fast Talk
25 Years of FBI War Stories by (Ret.) James Botting

Apparently, it not only Black males who have trouble with the LAPD. The (LA Division) FBI does too.

    Selected text:
"LAPD never gave us anything good" -the Author, pg 204
"F*ck LAPD" -the Author, pg 227
"F*ck you, FBI" -the Senior Homicide Detective of LAPD Rampart Division, pg 232

The Astrosaurs & Cows In Action series by Stephen Cole.

An entirely amusing book series which made me think of the old 80's toons. :p

A collected edition of 'Peanuts' comic strips, at the behest of a friend. My God, it's sheer torture. This is some of the most pointless, un-funny comic strip work I've ever read.
