They should just give it up already. Van halen hasn't had a hit much less a decent song in over a decade.

This does nothing for me. And knowing that they'll charge $300 for even passable seats at crappy arena shows makes me actively disinterested.

I think it's funny that they waited until no one cared anymore to finally get back together.

Come on. Have you seen David Lee Roth perform recently?
He looks like someone else doing a David Lee Roth act.

Holy crap, are we back in 1985? If so, I must buy lots of TFs.

It's not a real reunion with Van Halen's son in the band.
Basically I don't care at all, to be honest. Despite the fact that they made their best music with Roth, I think Hagar comes off as the better person. He's aged gracefully, he's got a pretty decent tequila, and he doesn't try to look like something he is not.

At least Diamond Dave got rid of that nasty bleached CC DeVille hair....shit he looked horrible with that.

    Nice sig btw...all awesome bands.

It's a been there done that thing, every time they've tried it before it's failed, so why bother?

The old stuff is great, let's just keep it in the past though

Also - BLASPHEMY perhaps but I like Sammy a lot more than Roth, personality wise at least, dude is just a cool mother fucker

Wish they'd make a 'Making the band' season where people fought their lyric battles to be the next singer of the band, and Dave has to be in among the contestants. Would be funny

Kind of lost it for them when they got Exteme's singer involved

Hahahaha! You nearly owed me a new keyboard.

I love Van Halen... back in the old days. Now... they are no longer relevant. I'll still always listen fondly to their classic stuff, but the reunion isn't really getting me "hot for teacher".

Wow I love how everyone here apparently can't appreciate a band if there more than 5 years old. I still wish Mike Anthony was in the band but its still pretty much Van Halen, should be interesting to see, ticket prices will be outrageous but depending on how close I might just bite.

I was skeptical at first, but I saw the press conference and I'm really curious to see them now. I never saw DLR Van Halen live but I'm really tempted to now. Sure, 2007 Dave probably isn't anything resembling 1984 Dave, but for me, Van Halen's always been about Edward's guitar.

It's a shame Michael Anthony isn't in the band but I would have killed to see a giant reunion show with both Dave and Sammy on vocals.

I'm perfectly happy listening to "dinosaur rock" - there just isn't anything else out there that's as good.

It's not that we don't appreciate them. It's just that we know it's going to end very badly.

No, it's just that some bands manage to be legends, still make new material, and not look like assholes while they do it. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Anthrax all kick serious amounts of ass because they never stopped, really.

Van Halen, as mentioned, hasnt' done anything significant in ages...and this "reunion" really feels more like a moneymaker than anything.

Not that there is anything that wrong with that...it's all about money most of the time with these kinds of bands. But still...I'd like a little more of an illusion of giving a shit about the music.

If they blow me away next year, I will happily eat crow.
