So here's something I don't think I've mentioned anywhere before: for a while I've had this unique voice effect for Soundwave in my head, it's a bit like what I'd expect an old-fashioned radio operator to sound like, slightly muffled and stiff, accompanied with a "click" followed by static while he's talking, then another click after he's done (or after the chain of word bubbles ends).

I like to think that his helmet is so soundproofed that he has to actually use a microphone and speaker for people to hear him when he's wearing it.

To answer your second question, if they just went for lists from the most frequent posters, probably Studiopolis or Funimation would be used. But if they took in some of He more recent posters, like myself (I use a lot of Toronto based VA’s) then it would probably involve Nelvana or Optimum. It probably wouldn’t cost much, if they have some actors pull double duty.

For me Kup has always been Corey Burton doing his Transformers Animated Ratchet voice. It just fits so well in my opinion.

 

I have the same idea too.   I always saw Ratchet's voice in Animated sounding a lot like G1 Kup so I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that.
