So What Are You Using For Risers?

I've been trying to find something to kinda phase out the "painted wood" that I've been using as risers in my display. Today at the Dollar Tree I came across these:

and where my wife saw me placing a large amount of desk organizers into our cart, I saw a bunch of risers for my TFs for $1 each

I opted for the black rather than silver but so far they're working out well; especially the letter holders for my WSTs.

With a collection quickly approaching 1000, buying plexiglass stands and such for my collection would put me in the poor house (or at least severely hamper my TF buying for a while). So I was wondering what kind of "improvised" things have you used for risers in your collection?

I've also been using a few spice racks, and solid plastic draw organizers spray painted black so that they don't stand out too much.

I use plastic card holders. I've found an assortment of 50 count and 100 count give me a good range, plus the fact that I can either stack, or stand them on various sides, increasing the range of heights. Plus they're good for storing the accessories that the various bots they are supporting come with.

I bought a bunch of these on eBay in different sizes.

I like the office supply idea though. Better than the VHS tapes I use on some in some of my older displays.

Spice racks from Target. They're about $8 for the large ones.

I like those, I've seen em at Meijer too. I was gonna buy a bunch of em for my Alts/BTs, the cumulative price was kinda preventive though.

@PlanetJacker what is that yellow Starscream in the 3rd row? I don't really do statues but I kinda like that
If I'm not mistaken they're baseball card holders? You should be able to pick them up at just about any place that sells sports cards/collectables. Those are an awesome idea man, I wish I would have thought about those.

Yea, at that price I couldn't not get em. I went back and wiped em out of the long black ones :D
(don't mind the mess, I'm redoing my display)

Meccano. Unfortunately, my imagination far outstrips my engineering capabilities, so they're not as great as they could be (yet... may have a rejig after I've moved house :) ).

    Stackable plastic containers.

They are products from Japan and I bought them from Daiso, a local Japanese retail chain here in Singapore.

It's great that they only cost S$2 each (~ US$1.40) and these are pretty popular with collectors here.

Sorry, I don't have a product page for them.
