So, here we are sitting on the couch watching a taped ep of American Idol and Kev threw some hot dogs in a pan to cook on the stove. After four minutes I go: "I smell something burning." He goes and checks and I hear: "Oh shit!"

Well, after the putrid fumes were vented out of our house I go into the kitchen to see this:

The Pyrex is securely melted onto the pizza pan now. He had turned on the wrong burner. Thinking about chunking this thing on ebay. :lol

When I lived with my ex, I totally ignited a fire in our kitchen because she believed in "burner covers" ... she stopped believing in them after that.

:lolol  I can't tell you how many times I have turned on the wrong burner. I've burned through two sets now! I grew up with a gas stove so my mom never had burner covers, if you turned on the wrong burner big deal you knew right away. Our stove now is electric, I hate the damn thing.

Here's a full shot of it, you can kind of see strings of plastic hanging from the stove. :lol

    Ouch. Glad you're OK.

We've had two fires in the dorms over the past week, both suspected arsons.

I thought Pyrex was more heat resistant than that.

I nearly blew up UNLV's test kitchen my freshman year.

I found out that day that wok stations are capable of launching gigantic fireballs to the ceiling.

Well, other than being turkey (Kev is on a diet) they survived. The plastic odor helped disguise the nastiness of those things cooking.

ARGH. I keep wanting to read that as a typo but I know it might not be because it's in a kitchen.

Also, holy crap, I didn't know you could melt pyrex. At least not with an ordinary, mortal stove.

The station at which one uses a wok, or big giant concave frying pan. Yes?
