So the extended Forest Battle never made it onto DVD?

It was only when I saw this on the internet did I remember (having saw ROTF in IMAX) that the DVD version was shortened. However I can't seem to find the shortened version online.

Why wasn't this front paged years ago?

I was under the impression that none of the extra footage in any of the movies actually involved robots. Just more of Sam mugging for the camera. I certainly never heard anything about a longer version of the best sequence in the entire series existing.

Does Walmart still sell this? (is it the Walmart exclusive Big screen edition?)

Does material like this (good robot stuff) exist for either TF1 or DOTM?

Exactly. As I recall the IMAX edition was a few minutes longer. The deleted scenes in ROTF were human scenes too as I recall. Though I'm wondering what was the point in scraping off about 2 minutes of additional footage when they could have been put in. Maybe it was the screen ratio that the sequence was in? Maybe normal cinema screen would have cropped too much. Who knows.

I can't remember if it was the DVD or Blu Ray version but my local Walmart still had at least one of the IMAX Edition in stock so it may still be around some Walmarts.

Dude, this was extensively covered years ago... to the point where I have to believe this is a joke thread, because I can't imagine there are still people unaware of it.

I'm only wondering if there was an IMAX version and apparently there was. There wasn't one released when I purchased my copy years ago but apparently it made it to disk.

It was the WalMart version of the release. It came out the same day as all the others.

Why not bring it up again? It sucks that these extra scenes aren't on other versions. Why aren't these scenes on the trilogy Blu-Ray?

I bought the IMAX version the day it was released because I wanted the IMAX version. The Forest Fight isn't the Forest Fight to me unless it has the extra scenes.

Can anybody tell me the other extended scenes, and maybe even post clips? The scenes from both the first and Revenge of The Fallen, even if they involve only humans.

There weren't any extended scenes added to the first movie, if I remember correctly (DVD versions). For ROTF, I just remember the Forest Fight scene being longer and the frame filled the widescreen for various shots throughout the film (WalMart version only). There's plenty of threads on this from back then.

The two big scenes in RotF were the forest fight and Devastator's merging, both on the Wal-Mart big screen blu-ray, which you can still find online. I just got it about two months ago off of a seller on Amazon (link to blu-ray) for about $23 (S+H included).

Well I live in the UK and in the UK I don't have a Walmart. Just like I don't have a Target or a Gamestop.

I read the front page pretty much everyday.

If I'm not interested/expecting anything of interest, I'm certainly not going to spend time digging through massive threads to see what turns up.

I'm telling you, I really don't think there was ever any news front paged that specifically emphasized any additional robot footage was added (let alone that it was more forest fight and Devastator).

I don't doubt it was here throughout the forums if I was looking for exactly what each version had, but if I had no reason to think there would be any new footage of anything besides Sam talking to his parents, why would I care?

I do actually remember at some point early on after the announcement of additional footage on Imax trying to find out what that would be and not finding anything.

All I know is, thanks to this website, I was aware that the WalMart version included the extended footage in the Forest Fight prior to ROTF being released on home video, and that's why I picked up that specific version of the movie on release day.

EDIT: Turns out that this news did make the front page:

"Information on additional content for Revenge of the Fallen Blu Ray release"

    Sorry if I was rude.

The good news is that now, thanks to this website I may pick this up as well. I have a found a bluray version online.

Actually, now that I think about it, was this even released on DVD? If it wasn't, and we didn't have bluray yet, I might have also ignored it for that reason. There have been instances of blurays having better extras than DVD. (I can't remember if we had bluray yet when ROTF came out- I certainly didn't buy the bluray).
