    I've always liked to think of Cyclonus as Skywarp. In the movie it appears that Bombshell is possibly Cyclonus, as he is in the front during the reformatting scene. As there's never been an official clarification that I'm aware of, I just go with Skywarp because I like that idea better.

    Pretty much.

    A more accurate way to look at it would be to say Scourge was made from Thundercrackers remains.

    NO

    opinion wise............I prefer the idea that it was Skywarp.

    But for me, opinion gives way to factual evidence and the general practice of character introduction in a animated story.

    And the general practice is that the centered, and or most foregrounded and the one the camera focused on durring a character introduction scene..

    In that regard, Bombshell was the one most centered, in the foreground, and was also the one the character followed when the upgrade was finished and he flew off.
    I sort of due.

    Ultimately, it doesn't matter, because unlike Galvatron, neither of them ever shows any relation to their former identities.

    What? You're are joking right? :confused:  I mean it seemed pretty clear to me that Thundercracker became Scourge.

    I do too. I'll admit, the evidence does very much suggest that it was Bombshell who became Cyclonus. However, there's evidence that Skywarp became "His Armada." And just a matter of seconds later this Armada character is gone and there's an additional sweep. And it makes a lot more sense to me to have Bombshell become a third sweep along with the other insecticons than to have Skywarp have become one. So when it comes to the whole Cyclonus argument I just say that whoever you would like to believe is Cyclonus is perfectly fine with me. I'm not gonna try to claim that I'm correct and someone who believes otherwise is wrong.

    Something that I've started to consider recently is that asides for Megatron/Galvatron, the other Decepticons that were rebuilt are somewhat similar to what Rhinox, Silverbolt, and Waspinator went through in Beast Machines. Not only did they get new bodies, but they essentially became completely new Transformers. I'm not saying that they don't remember their lives before being rebuilt, but I am saying that they were no longer the characters that they were before.

    I agree but Galvatron/Megatron share ALOT of the same traits,the only thing different to me is the alt mode and color.

    Megatron -> Galvatron
    Thundercracker -> Scourge
    Skywarp/Bombshell (pick at least one) -> Cyclonus.

    Just putting my :2c:  out there, but I think the way the bio for Universe Cyclonus is written actually does a good job of both addressing and avoiding this question. In his bio, it states that he was built from the discarded bodies of deactivated Decepticons. Bodies as in plural. Amusingly, RtS Cyclonus in the comic also does this, saying he had past lives, plural.

    With these cases of multiple robots being involved in his creation, I think it makes sense that Cyclonus could feasibly be built from both Skywarp AND Bombshell.

    Well according to Botcons Wreckers comics, Skywarp was 'Armada' and Shrapnel was Cyclonus. Or Bombshell, whichever Insecticon it was.

    From a toy perspective, Thundercracker and Skywarp in the 1985 Decepticon Jets assortment were replaced by Scourge and Cyclonus in the 1986 Decepticon Jets assortment.

    I know this is a thread about the fiction but I use the toy releases to justify my opinion that Scourge was Thundercracker and Cyclonus was Skywarp.
