So my bank went to a new crappy site design for online bill pay

Here is what I just sent to them:

    Dear Sir/Madame:

I would like to express my extreme disgust at the new online banking site. What was once a simple, easy to use and navigate site has since become something of a giant mess to use. U have to sort thru menus that were once clearly marked, former tasks that we were once one or two clicks are now 3-4 or more along with reading every step of the way. I have been exposed to computers since roughly 1980 and I am always abhorred when I see a business just destroy its website in such a way when the prior version was so easy to use. I feel sorry for anyone older who does not have computer experience as this must look like a complete nightmare to them. When I want to pay my bills why are there 6 choices on that page alone when I click on it?

I would like to know if any of this layout or design was tested by anyone? Or was this just "hey we have a new layout design"? If it was, I suggest hiring a completely new web design and testing team, or involve people who actually use the site in the process.

The sire change was prompted by the need for complete security and I imagine someone getting someones account numbers for online access would be infernally baffled by the new website as well, so in that case it has succeeded. More is not better, less it better. Clean, streamlined and 5 minutes online paying bills is what I want from my bank, it is what used to exist.

Every time I pay bills now I just get irritated by the time I have to waste on tasks that used to go much faster. I am tempted to begin checking other banking websites and move my accounts due to this.

    Sincerely

They probably outsourced to Indians and if they send any response at all it'll be a form letter telling you to download Firefox 28.5.d12.ds9.alpha++plusone!1.beta.rc2.extreme2012

I would probably not have used "U" instead of "you", and would have focused on proper spelling and grammar in a formal communication, if I expected to be taken seriously.

Expect to be ignored or receive a generic response, that's the reality of these large organisations.

Indeed. This letter will get laughed at by CS. The part about using computers since 1980 made me laugh.

This would be taken seriously by any (ok, most) customer service reps. The former, not so much (sorry bud, but them's the breaks)

Thanks, but it's not my best revision. I was just addressing a lot of the more obvious problems with it.

Customer service departments usually aren't grammar nazis, so whatever. Good for you for giving them feedback.

Also, is there a mobile version of the site? If you have a smart phone try going to the site on your phone and see what it does. If so, just use that address in your browser.

The grammar wasn't the only issue, but whatever.

I know, just saying, a business that cares about their customers isn't going to ignore a complaint based on how well, or poorly, written the complaint is. And if they do, then he should take his business elsewhere.

The letter itself is shit, but the complaint is legitimate.

I'll go into more speculative detail later when I feel like it, but this may not be entirely the bank's fault. Did anyone else's bank change the format of their bill pay page(s)?

    Here is what I know.

I used to be ale to bank online in five minutes.

Transfer money, click on the payee shit and whammo done!

Now its fucking click on fucking this, click on fucking that, here is 6 ways u can pay when u click on pay bills. I don't want 6 fucking choices when I click on bill fucking pay.

Like everything else on the net it just continues to get more ******ed every time someone thinks they need to update it.

U=you, so I missed a few comma's or apostrophes, wtf ever, I could always twitter them or do it on facebook instead(do it while chasing/feeding/entertaining a 2 yr old)

The fact remains it is a piss poor website redesign and I told them what I thought of it. I could remain quite and let them push shit over on us like the other 98% of the population.
