It's good bye for my PSP. I've put it up for sale in the Junkion. Once it sells, I'm off to by a DS Lite. The calling the the new SMB game is just too great. I played it at Toys "R" Us last week and that sealed the deal. There are a few other games I have my eye on right now, but I may be content with New SMB for some time.

So long PSP, how I will mis thee...Maybe...Ok, not really.

I like my PSP, but I must say that thats a good zinger.:thumb

(I have a rule to NEVER get rid of game hardware... and software will only get sold if it is VERY VERY sucky.)

However, even if I was tempted, I would not get rid of my PSP. MGS:p ortable Ops and Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins are coming... Okay, thats not much, but at least it looks pretty... oh... DS Lite looks pretty too..:p

There is no way in hell I would get rid of a PSP just to get a DS and the new SMB. Its just nearly as good as its been hyped and the way Mario slides all the time is annoying. They also somewhat took the Super Mario Bros 3 world map system, but it was better on SMB 3.

But like mentioned, PSP has some pretty nice games coming out somewhat soon, and Feild Commander is out now, and soon I will have Lemmings.

I'm a sucker for Metal Gear games and that is one of the main reasons why I decided to get a PSP.

    ...I also want a DS Lite :(

Maybe if they put as much effort into making games as they do updating the PSP functions, it might be better. I have a PSP and have a total of 4 games and one movie. Nothing looks pleasing and none of the UMDs have special features. Also, not being able to see it in the sunlight sucks.

Also, someone slap someone at Sony for me. Putting GTA Liberty City on PS2 now. And for $30 cheaper... I hate thee.

hell, at this point there is more effort to get Japanese porn onto the system than games. But you can't even play the system's best library of product on the R1 PSP.

I wish I had that rule a long time ago when I sold my Saturn games after my system broke. Biggest regret of my life. I had some of the greatest games too. The only games I could never get my hands on were Fighters Megamix, Fighting Vipers, Shining Force 3, and Panzer Dragoon Saga. I had Guardian Heroes. :cry

After that I made a vow never to sell a game unless I really needed the money or if the game was really sucky. So far my only sold DS game has been Lunar. The only DS game I was highly disapointed in. Mainly due to the awsomeness of the previous games.

GTA:LCS is the only PSP game I own. I've rented others, and nothing's even remotely made me want to spend another $50 on a game.

Don't get me wrong, I love my PSP. 99% of it is used for portable NES, SNES, and Genesis ROMS though.

It's not just about the new SMB game. That was just the deal breaker for me. I haven't touched the system since February. I refuse to pay $50 for portable games (especially when the PS2 or XB version is available, and sometimes cheaper). Out of everything out there, and everything out there and everything coming out, I wanted very few of them.

The only ones that interested me were:

Capcom Classics - But I already have every one of those games on various other systems.
SF Alpha 3 - SF Alpha Anthology took the need for that
Pursuit Force - Looks cool, but don't feel like dropping $40 - $50 on it.

And that was about it. Everything else I want is/was already available on the PS2 or XB.

And sitting through longer load times than actual play time is something I will not miss.

Yeah, that ended my PSP run for me. That and the firmware BS.

Post here when you sell it, I'm interested in finding out what you get for it. I may sell mine as well.

if you hate the firmware deal, then the PS3 is gonna piss you off more....

don't they buy it from you somewhat like 50-70% of the retail price (this case $150 or something), and it depends how much used ones they already have....

i might pick up a PSP when it gets to $150 mark....but right now, i'd pick up a second DS (a DS Lite) before i pick up a pSp.

Syphon Filter was pretty badass, Burnout's pretty good but I've got to the level where I simply can't win anymore and that just sort of takes all the fun out of it... the Megaman games look great but I havent been able to justify even the $30 for each of them, Field Commander looks awesome too... can't really think of too much on the horizon though... but as already mentioned by others with MPO on the way I cannot part with my PSP

Where's that guy with his Transformers again? I think this proves that the DS isn't a failure.

You know, my best defense for the PSP was MGS: Portable Ops, but with the reminder of GTA: LCS ported over to PS2...well, my argument loses a lot of its weight.

Good call with the DS, by the way. I doubt you'll be as disappointed. :)

Has anyone noticed that the PSP owners tend to make a better argument for not getting a PSP than the non-owners do?

We like our hardware.... We're just very pissed off at the software for it. :(
