Just pre-ordered my figures. Now, here's the major questions:

I have the original Energon Bruticus Maximus. However, all the pics I've seen so far have been for the RotF Bruticus, and it looks really sweet, but unfortunately, the prices on one aren't so. So the question I'm facing is whether to buy the RotF set, or just stick to my energon molds. I'd say the energon molds might be a bit more G1 accurate colorwise, but its a tough call, and there aren't any pics out there to really compare.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

If money is tight, stick with the Energon molds because they really don't look that bad. Otherwise, shop around a little bit. You might be able to find one on clearence or a cheap loose one on the boards.

Am I right in thinking that the Universe 2.0 version has the exact same colouring as the ROTF one?

If so, I'm firmly siding with those colours. The Energon one looks...wrong.

I would pick it up and use the energon one for now. Once this thing sells out, the prices on ROTF Bruticus will drop again, but the prices on the add-on will shoot through the roof. Sure it may be a year or so from now, but it will be worth the wait unless you find a hot deal earlier.

I personally think that, Energon Barricade with ROTF Vortex and Brawl will look the best, as well as the most toon accurate.

    Yeah, same colors.

USA got ROTF packaging; rest of the world got Universe packaging. AFAIK thats the only difference for that repaint.

Yeah RotF looks better, but Energon looks fine. If it comes down to it you could always bust out a paint brush and go to town.

I didn't collect Energon/Armada/Cybertron figures but why is that Barricade Green? My Barricade is a dark blue?

It's either the Lighting or the Superlink version, which might be brighter than the Energon version.

Reverb, ROTF Vortex, Energon Barricade and Kickback? I never could find the ROTF set cheap but I got Vortex for 10 bucks:thumbs2: .

Here is some idea of what Bruticus will look like

had to get some help from MP Grimlock:lol . I think it will look pretty good, the photoshop green looks terrible but this blue really fits in :2c: .

I have a clever plan devised! soon after this 2 upgrade sets are released i figure there will be a surge of unwanted limbs and i plan to pick up 2 of the tanks and 2 choppers then hunt for a cheap barricade.

I was originally planning to mix and match between the two bots, but after seeing those comparison photos I will have to say the ROTF looks soo much better.

Off to the rubbermaid of exile for the Energon version.
