So yeah, I'm obviously not a child of the 80s, so I grew up with Beast Wars, not the original Transformers, I know enough about the show to be dangerous, but I've never had the notion to go back and watch the old cartoons. I just didnt really care a whole lot.

I will say that I've ALWAYS been a big fan of the toys, regardless of what form they take, beasts or cars, but for some reason (maybe because I hate mecha anime, I dunno) I could just never get into any of the other cartoons, Beast Wars and Beast Machines excluded.

So now I've decided to start with the original and push through to Prime. I know thats a LOT of material to cover, but I think I'm gonna enjoy most of it...well some of it...oh god what am I getting myself into...

Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted with my thoughts as I watch. This should be interesting.

    That's:
    95 episodes of G1
    35 episodes of Headmasters
    43 episodes of Super-God Masterforce
    38 episodes of Victory

    52 episodes of Beast Wars
    26 episodes of Beast Machines

39 episodes of Robots in Disguise

    52 episodes of Armada
    50 episodes of Energon
    51 episodes of Cybertron

    Transformers
    Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
    Transformers: Dark of the Moon

    39 episodes of Transformers Animated

    26 episodes of Rescue Bots

43 episodes thus far of Transformers: Prime

That's 579 episodes and three feature films in total. At 22 minutes apiece and not counting the movies, that's around 216 hours or approximately 9 days!

I havent made a decision on the secondary stuff (Headmasters or any of the Japanese stuff just yet) but I'll more than likely be getting to it.

And thank you for the guide blindside, that'll definitely help out.

So I recently finished the first season, here are some thoughts I posted on HJU:

    PROS

*The characters are incredibly fun and varied. I really enjoyed each one, and even the ones that dont show up all the time are good.

*The story is really good. Though i dont like how they add random character with no explanation (ill get to that more in a bit) but i do really love how the episodes bleed into the other. Its not at all episodic, the changes made are referenced episode to episode.

    CONS

*The characters just come out of nowhere. Yeah Spike and Sparkplug are given a somewhat reason, but where did this Chip kid come from? Why is this doctor all of a sudden working for Megatron? It just raises too many questions.

*The errors. Just. So many errors. I can't even begin to count them. I have no problem with coloring issues (Though I find it hilarious when Starscream starts talking to himself) but the story errors are just really annoying. Like how Skyfire was originally friends with Starscream, but neither of them were Decepticons, then you find out later with the insecticons that robots are either Decepticons or Autobots and regardless if they hate each other, decepticons and, presumably Autobots, will always end up working together. That makes no sense for obvious reasons

Anyway, overall I really enjoyed it. It was a good bit of fun. Now bring on Season 2.

Good luck mate! If you do go through with this, it would be very interesting if you wrote a brief summary of your thoughts for every episode, even if it just a sentence or two.

One from each of those was a "lost" episode, never dubbed for English consumption and therefore not of great consequence to our friend here. No, there were 51 including Scars in Energon, check the Wiki.

Animated did have Transform and Roll Out, however, thanks for reminding me.

Sorry, I wish I had the time to do that, but work kinda puts a damper on that. I will be writing my thoughts out for each season in pros and cons though :)

Good catch, but Animorphs should burn in a Cybertron hell.

I never noticed how many coloring errors there were in G1 before I got too lazy to pop in the Shout DVDs and started watching it on Netflix. The Shout version fixed a lot of crap!
