I don't think it will be too bad. It is a nice piece thus far, and the sticker set/pieces yet to be shown could drive the interest even more. I love some of the interesting 3rd party stuff TFCon has gotten over the years. Really outside the box thinking with them to get exclusives that work from 3rd parties.

Seemed like there was always a fair amount of Onslaughts floating around out there. I am just glad I snagged a couple extra. It helped me land this set.

I personally like the Ultra figure, it is different from G1, but still represents the Character IMO. It was a different outside the box update for the character that just works for me. Looks tough too.

I don't have the Takara version (yet), but finally saw it in person while I was over at someone's place, and the colors/brightness looked amazing on it in person. I think I made the comment "damn, now Im gonna have to buy this version too". The Hasbro is pretty decent in its own right, and if you only have a passing interest, I would probably go that route and save a little cash.

I want it for the upgrade. That means I have to find a fellow board member going to TFcon to help out.

Wouldn't the repaint be more likely to shoot up in value then?

I dont know why this would increase the price of Onslaught, because with this TFcon Headrobots exclusive Stronghold, wouldn't it make Onslaught look like a repainted Hardhead?

And here I thought everyone wanted to differentiate between Ultra-class Onslaught and Hardhead....

I cared about him before, and I continue to look for him to this day. His price better NOT shoot up. That is one awesome looking figure.

Wait. The value is going to go up because of a reprolabels sticker set? Or a headrobots upgrade kit? The Tfcon set would look nice on Onslaught I guess.
Guess I'm not much of a third party person.

    spiked shoulder smash.

The first version loops its engine start and machine gun noise. The second version loops the siren and the machine gun. The japanese version is beatiful, though I hav'ent opened it yet. If you liked the united shiny paint. Its covered in that and not vac chrome. It loops the siren and machine gun.

Hasbros deco is not bad though. It evokes a more muted and brutal vibe. Though he could have used another weapon in the mold I think. Like a beatstick to go with the riot shield or a grenade launcher.

and finally there is universe Hardhead, that glourious IDW style shield deco and the classic green contrasts the red powerglide and black skyfall from the set well.

I really like the Onslaught we got from Hasbro/Takara. Why is he going up in value?

Honestly, there was plenty of interest in him in the first place. He was the hardest Ultra to aquire in B&M stores during the kickoff of Universe. There were also Onslaught appreciation threads and the like. Not really something that would happen to an unwanted fig like, say, Night Ops Rachet.
