So is it the general consensus that Wheeljack is the best TFP deluxe?

From the current wave? Figure its him or Soundwave at least, and sadly Soundwave was all scalped out (nothin' left on the pegs but..well, all of his wave mates), so I was considering getting ol' Wheeljack because Cliffjumper looks like ass and Bumblebee is, well, yet another BB.

I just have him and First Edition Bumblebee thus far, and I love both. I think WJ is the better toy though. And how does Cliff look like ass? He cheats, but the chest and legs are miles more accurate looking than the FE.

    ^this.

and this! Loving the mould so much I bought two! And when the Legends Class toy is released, ditto to that too. and to add to the WJ overload I might be tempted to get the Takaratomy version too! I betcha his Arms Micron becomes a Big F*ckin Sword.

    Excess criticism articulated poorly.

But Wheeljack probably is a contender for best DX so far.

Considering it is one per case, it is likely that someone bought Soundwave before you got there rather than it being "scalped out" by some boogie-man.

As far as wheeljack, the things that bug me are the lack of elbow swivel, and the fact that (for me) his face looks like Planet of the Apes. Decent figure, but I really wasnt overly impressed. Cliffy is small, but not terrible, but this whole scaling back on some of the articulation on the deluxes as a whole leaves something to be desired, atleast for me.

It is not general consensus. Prime Wheeljack has gorilla arms, window kibble on each of them and no elbow articulation. I like my Prime Ratchet a lot and if Wheeljack's better than him, it's not by a long shot.

Lack of a BICEP SWIVEL is cutting back on articulation for all the figures? Yeah, keep tellin' yourself that.

I think he means the First Wave. Ratchet is Wave two.

I like PRID wheeljack, but personally I like soundwave even more. Wheeljack comes in a close second. I think that cute mini laserbeak that comes with Soundwave is what scores him as better imo. Same reason HA Soundwave is my favorite HA character, a little Laserbeak pet. :p

This is at the Target I work at, where I have personally seen the same person scalp figures multiple times. Being that we have multiple cases worth of figures on the shelves and pegs and only Soundwave and Megatron are gone from them...safe assumption.

With how damned cool the Prime toys are, I'm sure he'll be beaten within half a year. Skyquake anyone?

    *bends wheeljack's elbows*

you sure you aren't playing with a different wheeljack? I can understand he is lacking a bicept swivel, but that is the only joint he is missing, he is a FANTASTIC figure all things considered

Wheeljack has my vote among the RID deluxes, but I haven't seen Ratchet or Arcee yet.

I truly, honestly think people are blowing Wheeljack out of proportion here. He's a great toy, but toy of the year?

Best RID deluxe so far for me is a tossup between Soundwave and Ratchet. Ratchet has great articulation surprisingly. He's got a ton of articulation where it maters, including a waist swivel. I almost missed it, it's tough to see at first.
