So, is anybody considering changing the button mapping?

I'm debating if I should make the transform button a face button instead of the analog. I can be a little heavy handed at times.

I wonder how sensitive the 360 controller is. I don't think the left stick on the PS3 is all that sensitive, but I guess I'll find out in 14 days (the time I expect the game to be in my house, though someone breaking street date would be appreciated).

What's up with the freezing a double posting of late? I only clicked once on the "post quick reply" icon and yet, I was greeted with a long 5 minute wait and two postings:confused:

I might remap Grenade to something.
If I can I'd probably move the two abilities to left and right on the D-pad, then move melee to Right Bumper and grenade to Left Bumper.

Tried re-mapping the tf button. Found myself really used to the analog stick activation instead. Every time I tried to do something graceful when transforming I'd fine myself clicking the stick instead of Y.

Button layout seemed perfectly fine and natural to me. Only 'problem' for me was that I forgot which stick was transforming and which was melee attacks, but I'm sure I'll have that down in notime.

I kept hitting the transform L1 instead of the melee R1, resulting in my getting slagged a few times trying to get close up hits in. Otherwise, the rest of the configuration is decent.

So there are 2 buttons for special abilities? I think I may do a layout like this. I was trying to get it be as close to MW as possible since that’s the shooter I play most and I can’t really make it like ROTF’s setup.:

    L1: Aim, Boost
    L2: Abillties
    R2: Abilities
    R1: Shoot
    Triangle: Transform
    Box: Reload
    O: Grenades
    X: Jump

    L3: Movement
    R3: Melee

the controls they have set are pretty good already, i am especially digging the left stick click transform. although i do accidentally click it when i don't want to sometimes, it is extremely convenient to have it there. i really think you should give it a shot before changing it.

I have adjusted to the button layout, the only thing I would probably change is the transform button (clicking left stick). So far so good, wish they would unlock Leader and Scientist class to try out.

I was, but I'm far to used to the way they are already. I've had less accidental transformations as of late so that hasn't been much of a problem. I might switch out the melee button though.

You're better off leaving the controls as they are, as Matt said during his interview at Kotaku.com there is a trade off for changing the buttons: the user gains easier input at the expense of time, added seconds to attacks and transformation.

I had to change them. I was Transforming every time I tried to move. I'm really heavy thumbed apparently. I was ready to give up on the game until I found that you could switch that one button.

The left click placement is very convenient. Your thumb is constantly there while playing almost any game. So, when you transform, you can aim with the right stick during the transformation. You don't have to stop turning towards where you want to go to press a face button and change. This is helpful when you want to escape!

I haven't had any major problems with the default layout so far. I haven't transformed accidentally or anything like that.

I'm definitely moving the TF button to the face.

I'm going to try moving it. I'm not really used to the 360 controller in general, since I've gone so long without using it, and no other game I play makes uses of L1 in nearly as important a way as WFC does with transforming. Might be the same reason why I suck ass at melee, even as a cloaked Scout.

Dude, if you switch transform to triangle, you are gonna your ass shot off. This game moves very fast, and having to move your finger off the aiming stick to transform will probably throw your rhythm off.
