.. how would another Prime be chosen? I decided to give this show another shot and I'm trying to play catch up. Is Optimus a descendant of the original Prime dynasty like the movies in this? Or did the Matrix choose him? If he's a descendant, how would another Prime be chosen?

I don't ever recall anyone explicitly saying Prime was the last one.

TFPrime Optimus is the last Prime? I didn't know that.

I guess he'd choose whoever comes next.

I thought in the opener/mini series someone said that. Maybe I'm getting my wires crossed here.

According to Exodus, he is a descedant of the original Lineage, but refused to take on the actual responsabilities of Prime once, so they picked a non-descendant that would fit the role nicely [This being Sentinel Zeta Prime, shown in WFC], when Zeta died, Optimus was forced to take on such responsabilities.

But he was also choosen by the Matrix in WFC [I don't recall if Exodus confirmed that], where Primus bestowed him with the Matrix and said he was the last hope of Cybertron before shutting himself down.

I think that if he dies, it would be like they did with Zeta: Pick a non-descendant that would fit the role well.

You know I never finished Exodus, I should do that. So which origin will Prime use? Exodus or WFC?

Well, both origins can fit into the same timeline to be honest [as in WFC, the Autobot High Council mentions how Optimus refused to be a Prime once].

And there's the possibility that TFP will choose neither, but seeing as the show portrayals Optimus [and the show's similarities to the movie-verse], it's likely that will stick more to the Exodus Origin [they'll probably mix the two, though].

I like the idea of Prime being a descendant of the dynasty. I also wonder if the 13 will show up in Prime at all. I hope this show goes into more detail about Prime and Megatron's past.

    I like that idea too.
On Megs and Optimus past, the main leads of the show said they like that characteristic, so it's likely they'll dig more on that.

About the 13, I think so: you see, the show is called Transformers: Prime and all of the Thirteen were Primes, the show has also been described as "Rightfully Huge" on some of the BotCons, the same term was used to describe the Thirteen on that night.

Optimus will just pick another leader, who if he is the last of the Primes, will be a non-Prime who fits the role. Arcee or Ratchet out of Team Prime are likely.

where are you getting your information from? links please. there is more things in common with WFC and Exodus then there is for either of those with Prime.

    Prime has its own bible.

in show it seems like there is only 1 Prime though, they havent made much of a mention of others. probably have alittle hand me down ceremony or something to another bot.

Exodus. Read It and tell me I'm wrong.
But if you want a link: Cybertronian Civil Wars, on the "Aligned" Part at the end of the article.

He asked for an explanation and I explained the best I could, and I [clearly] said "ACCORDING TO EXODUS", if [on his personal opinion] Exodus doesn't fit with Prime Continuity, he could just disregard everything I said.

Besides, the creators never said that Exodus was not canon, so...

Exodus would be close to the Prime one, but it would still have differences, and the creators of Prime havent stated that Exodus was canon either

As I said: Hasbro said Exodus is canon, the TFP "heads" said nothing, so we can't say that Exodus is not canon.

And as I said: If he thinks Exodus is not canon, he could simply ignore my opinion because of that.

Yeah, last time they tried to do that, we ended up with one of the most sadistic Primes of all time: Sentinel Zeta "PREPARE! FOR! DESTRUCTION!" Prime

That's not according to Exodus. In Exodus Orion Pax was built to be a data clerk. There was nothing refused in his origin. It was because of Alpha Trion many years after his activation that he became Optimus Prime but even then he wanted to refuse it.
