Ok so my wife works at a day care working with two year olds, eleven of them. Thus she has had strepthroat about 5 times in as many months. I too have had it. She gets the fever, sore throat, cant talk, cough. I get no symptoms and the doctor cant find out why. not even a tickle in my throat. Is this that unusual. Shouldnt i feel horrible.

When I was a kid, I got Strep Throat that frequently and I had to have my tonsils taken out. Since then, haven't had Strep once. Do you and your wife have your tonsils?

You'd rather get the collective opinion of a bunch of Transformer collectors before finding another doctor that can actually tell you the answer? I said wow.

If you're really concerned about it, go see an Immunologist.

That's gonna be pretty varied. The degree of immune response varies alot from person to person.

If you're not feeling the same symptoms she is, then chances are you're not actually getting Strep.

I've had Strep at least twice in my life and every time, I knew damn well what it was because it was misery and Hell on Earth.

Swollen throat, sore throat, coughing (which irritated said throat), couldn't swallow, etc. Believe me, if you have Strep, you'll know it.

I might have to all House MD on this one and say that while your wife has strep, you may not. If your tonsils are swollen and yet you have no pain you might have tonsilloliths, or tonsil stones. They're hard, rubbery buildups in the tonsillary crypts, and they'll eventually work their way loose.

Now I'm going to grab my cane, insult my friends, and ride off on my motorcycle. Fade to AWESOME.

Embrace the blessings of Grandfather Nurgle, for his gifts are manyfold and bountiful.

Under his warm gaze the sickness shall sicken, the fever burn and the flu say oink.

Pray to Nurgle, for he alone can save you now.
