...and got a 3.4 GPA out of it.

Let me explain, for the last three years of High School I've had a 2.1 GPA. Which makes no sense because if you look at my report cards they consist of almost all A's and B's, with a couple C's here and there. Now of course a 2.1 GPA is really bad. Really, really bad. If I hadn't said anything to my principal, I probably would have never been able to get into the college I want to go to (Moorhead).

So today, after almost a year of bugging the principal about this, he finally went through my grades himself, calculated them. Turns out I was right, and I have a 3.4 GPA now. He said that the grading system must have miscalculated (Hu dur durrrrr) and he apologized not just to me, but to my parents as well.

    Damn straight.

You do have to dodge his feigned concern attack, though.

Only so many kids have the balls to do what you did. Congrats. Best of luck trying to get into that college.

I don't even know what my GPA is :lol  I gotta check with my guidance counselor.

Wait, so how exactly did you "tell off" your principle cause this sounds like the furthest thing from actually telling someone off.

Regardless, congrats on setting right such a huge mistake.

Not literally 'tell off' or anything. I said that because I was feeling awesome at the time. :lol  I just went to his office and said this. (Not word for word of course, the conversation was much longer),

'Listen, for the last three years I've been at this school I've worked really hard to raise my GPA. But since 2008 it hasn't budged. It's about time that you actually did the calculations yourself. You being stubborn about something that simple could be the difference between me going to college or not.'

    Yeah, I know...Really badass right? :redface2:
But the point is that because I said something and stood up for myself my GPA got a major boost. Moorhead University here I come.

I just feel really good about myself right now, because that 2.1 GPA has cost me and my parents a lot of grief.

Seems like you didn't tell him off, but just kept on top of him and got him to recalculate your GPA for you personally even if it took all year.

At least you got your GPA resolved and hopefully it will be corrected within their system to reflect your true GPA.

Good luck in college... Who knows maybe one day you'll get a career where people will eventually say they told you off. :lol

When I read "I told off my principal" I expected you pushed him up against a locker, told him he's nothing and slammed your fist next to his head, then dropped out of school to join a rock band and tour the world.

Asking someone to recalculate your GPA isn't really telling them off unless they were a huge douche about it and you got all up in their face.

But congrats regardless. Good for you for getting it sorted out.

Wow. Seriously you guys? It's just the title of the topic. If it's that big of a deal I'll request a title change.
I'm here talking about something that kind is a huge thing for me and most of you focus on that I didn't really 'tell him off'.

Well, he kind of was a douche about it for a while. I went to talk to him about it in September and he threatened to have security escort me out because he was confident that the grading system couldn't make any mistakes.

Congrats on getting your GPA corrected. But, yeah, the whole 'telling off' thing? Not so much.
