    AND IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME!

I think this movie might have made it's way into my top 10, I watched it two days in a row!

I mean, it starts out ok, super cop transfered to the country, he thinks that guy is a murderer, yadda yadda, then BAM out of nowhere it takes the most absurd turn it possibly could and I LOVED it. It's crazy that the action sequences were better filmed than the movies it was parodying. The humor was perfect, and all the quirky characters were brilliant.

All in all, great characters, great action sequences, great movie.

I want to see this so bad, but my parents might not let me. I did get to watch 300, though, and the Die Hard series

This movie is not more adult than either Die hard or 300, hell it doesn't even have nudity. A bit gory in a scene or two though.

And I love this movie. Saw it 2 days, back to back! :thumb

I love Hot Fuzz so hard. Easily my "best movie of the year". The one sheet hangs framed behind me as I type.

I love Shaun as well, they're both so awesome I find it hard to compare them. I think Fuzz works a bit better overall as a cohesive film, start to finish. However I think they work even better together. Watch Shaun, then Fuzz. You see the little touches and call backs.

    (minor joke spoilers ahead)

For example the fence short cut, or in Fuzz, Danny (Nick Frost's character) shoots the doctor in the leg with an air rifle (a joke repeated in Fuzz when Frost does the same with an actual gun), back in Shaun at the bar when everyone's discussing who has fired a gun before Shaun (Pegg) mentions that Ed (Frost) has experience with guns because he once shot his sister in the leg with an air rifle. There are others like that, the writing is so brilliant. (there is even a deleted scene in Fuzz about knowing what "exacerbate" means).

Can't wait to see what these guys come out with next.

Hot Fuzz was great, but Shaun Of The Dead beats it to death with a severed leg.

I guess I have to be the one to play devils advocate here. I was entertained, to a point, but it fell really flat by having little to no humor, IMO. I think Shaun of the Dead was far better- it made you care about the characters, seeing them in humorous and human situations before they are tossed into a nightmare. That was not so well done in this movie. Good, but not great, IMO.

Hot Fuzz is better than Shaun, IMO.

And the PG version in the extras is worth a look too.

I personally think that Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead are on par. They are both equally great movies that I am willing to watch multiple times. My sister and father both enjoy watching them immensely. We all enjoyed it when Simon Pegg was in one episode of Doctor Who, since we had enjoyed him so much in Shaun of the Dead.

Anyone who hasn't seen Hot Fuzz really needs to give it a chance.
