I'm suprised no one made a reference to Zombieland towards the OP. He finally "learned, who you are gonna call"

 

I saw Ghostbusters 2 as a kid and liked it. Saw it recently on TV and still liked it. It's not as good as Ghostbusters 1 but it is far from being bad.

 

Good thing you didn't tell him about the Twinkie.

 

GB2 is a very fun movie. But the entire setup relies on the entire population of NYC forgetting that a giant marshmallow monster nearly destroyed the city, cost hundreds of thousands in damages, and likely millions in cleanup costs.

 

Nah, they didn't forget. There's even a reference in GB2 to the Ghostbusters getting sued by just about everyone after the first movie. Everyone just grabbed a share of blame cash from the 'Busters through the courts and moved on with their lives. Just like the real world.  

This is really my only problem with it. It has so many of the same beats as the first film. But it's still a great watch. It's like the first two Evil Dead movies are pretty much the same thing, but both are awesome.

 

I think the only weakness with gb2 was that it tried to do too much. Besides the main plotline with vigo u had venkmans daddy issue, moranis love interest, which left less time to focus on the team dynamic so in a way it was kinda diluted. Felt like a bunch of stuff patched together even if there were a lot of gags.

These bunch of movie have a special place in my heart in that it was around this time i was old enough to go movies on my own: bttf, gremlins, gb, t2, buncha van damme crap. Good times.

 

Count me in with people who like GB2.

Not without it's issues, but the constant one liners more than make up for it.

 

The slime experiments... "You're not sleeping with it are you?" "OW OW OW! OH did you ever fall for it...the ol man eating toaster!"

 

Tamo, were talking about gb2 here, thats gb1, come on!

 

I never have and never will understand GB2 hatred. Sure the first one is better but it still is a decent flick and I could name 5 sequels that were worse than GB2(Batman and Robin,Spiderman 3, Shrek 3,Pirates of The Carribean 3,and Godfather 3)

 

Watch it, you will laugh and you will laugh more. Personally I love the court room scene.
