Whats the point buying it if you cant get it out and look at it, transform it etc.

 

If I knew the shield had previous damage/flaws, I literally wouldn't of touched it. I actually wouldn't have bought it, but each to their own.

Hydra's a good guy, I've got stuff from him, and always found his descriptions to be completely accurate, the last lot I got from him were pristine, even exceeding what I was expecting.

I'd NEVER buy a MISB BZ for that very reason, you don't know what he's going to be like till you've opened him.

My thoughts exactly, I've had two BZ's through my hands, both crumbled   Scorpy's one of, if not my favourite TF toy, as such I'd do unspeakable things for a sturdy BZ  

 

That sucks about the shield breaking...that's why my Black Zarak just stands in the glass display case never to be transformed again! You can always pick up Scorponok's shield, paint it gold and get some new stickers from Reprolabels...that's what I ended up doing.

Wow dude, thats pretty intense. I get it though. Youre pretty much "all in" right now. You may have to do whatever it takes to make this right so you can be ok with it. I feel for you. Its a shitty place to be, but I get it. I hope it works out.

I think your only option will be to buy another mib black z.... Then sell the repaired one. You will still get good money back.

 

Why would you open it and break it after saying in several posts you would not buy a used black zarak that it had to be misb????

 

You keep asking if you can get a new shield, but Black Zarak is an extremely rare toy, and most of the ones that exist have the gold parts broken; it's not like "Hey I got an Optimus Prime, can someone sell me the fists?" There's almost no one who has a Zarak shield to spare without giving up the entire figure. And even if you get a new shield, there's about a 98% chance it'll break again! I guess my calling Black Zarak an "unfortunate victory" earlier wasnt clear enough.

The reason Black Zarak goes for around 2K is because they don't last. They suffer big time from GPS and crumble to pieces over time. Instead of pouring further loaned money into essentially a money pit trying to get a loose pristine Black Zarak, if I were you, I'd count my blessings that only the shield is broken and not the figure itself or any other parts, and do as was suggested by Flywheels and recolor a Scorponok shield gold. I mean, heck, I'd buy a loose Scorponok Shield for a buck or two, break out the gold marker/paint pen and golden it up to display it as such.

I can understand your frustration at what happened, but take solace in having what is really a fine example of Black Zarak, cut your losses and your frustrations, and move on; don't pour more money trying to get another MISB Black Zarak, enjoy the one you have and live with its flaw, either via supplication or just displaying it (or whatever) sans shield.
