I was looking for Transformers on Craigslist when I happened to come upon a post for some auction that was only 10 minutes from my house. I was shocked by the photos and I decided to go there to "inspect" the lot. To my amazement, they had a cache of G1 Transformers, all opened but the bots & boxes were in scary good condition. Some even still had original TRU, Target and retail store price tags.

I have never seen a collection like this up for sale.. ever..at least in Socal...

I really wanted to get the G1 Wheeljack, however, they stopped selling piece by piece and sold it as a lot. The lot included wheeljack, sunstreaker, grapple, motormaster, ratchet, blitzwing, astrotrain. Went for $1,050.

I ended up with a G1 Grimlock and a G1 Jetfire (Matsushiro version)..

Great experience... I have never seen a collection like this up for sale.. ever..

I talked with the guy that was selling this stuff, apparently he got the items from an unpaid storage locker...

    Here's what I got...

This was my first ever auction, I've always wanted to go to one. Overall good experience.

    Thanks for looking..

Holy lord. What I wouldn't give to have been that guy that got the storage locker. I feel bad for whoever missed the payments though.

Great finds, did you say they were all opened? That Grimlock is a gem!

I never understand these people. I understand missing a payment, but if you have some valuable stuff in your storage locker, why would you not pick it up?

Wow! Very nice pieces from the auction. That's a nice find for you. It is a shame the original collector let it go. But your gain for sure.

*sigh* I remember when most TF's came in boxes.
They'd be deluxes by today's standards.

Nice find. I would have gone for the lot. $1000 for the items pictured seems like a steal.

Damn, that is crazy.I can't see someone abandoning these bad boys due to non payment. Makes me wonder if the owner died or something.

I'd wager that drugs and/or death play a role a decent percentage of the time.

i don' think all of it was included in the lot, just the ones he said (wheeljack, sunstreaker, grapple, motormaster, ratchet, blitzwing, astrotrain) and the rest were sold individually.

How come this stuff never happens to me?; I've been looking for those two particular figures ( G1 Grimlock and my holy Grail G1 Jetfire, also that Jetfire is pristine) and I've never found one; not one stinking transformer in all the yard sales I've been to, and that's on two states.
    Anyhow, congrats man awesome find.
