Well most of you might remember my cries from my previous bike...

Well I Patched it up for the last time on Sunday before the rear derailleur popped off again even after I made sure the wheel was tight... and the seat was falling apart. Random parts were falling offf and the handlebars were loose.

I could've put $90 into it and called it a day but No since I won't have my car for the next few months I bought instead a 2011 Scott Sub45
this bike is wicked after coming off a cheepo store branded bike.I was going street speeds easily without hassle or the chain popping off.

I'm keeping the Northwood as a spare backup bike

    specs

    Specification Description
    Frame Scott SUB aluminum
    Fork Scott SUB aluminum
    Rims/Wheels Rigida DP 2000
    Hubs Front: Scott; Rear: Shimano
    Spokes 14-gauge
    Tires Continental Sport Contact, 700 x 37c
    Crankset Shimano
    Chainwheel 48/38/28
    Front Derailleur Shimano
    Rear Derailleur Shimano Acera
    Rear Cogs Shimano, 9-speed: 11-32
    Shifters Shimano Altus
    Handlebars Scott
    Stem Scott
    Brake Levers Shimano Deore
    Brakes Shimano Deore hydraulic-disc
    Pedals Wellgo platform
    Saddle Scott SUB
    Seat Post Scott aluminum

I was pampered with the luxury ride the Northwood offered, but the Sub45 sacrifices the luxury for a firm (suspension-less) ride and more power to the road.

Nice, I hope the new bike works out better for you. If you need any help or tips, PM me. I do all of my own bicycle maintenance.

Awesome! I have only been cycling now for a couple of months but I do enjoy it. I'm stoked because I am transitioning over to clipless pedals tomorrow. Enjoy your new bike.

2 attemp: Going down a gravel hill, then slipped, Scarred Right knee.

3 attemp: Bumped into a railroad, Scarred Right knee again.

I dunno, I think she'd make for a pretty cool alt mode.

I got a new bike this week too. (It's used, but new to me) It's a 2010 Specialized Sirrus that needs a small amount of work. I traded a '75 Schwinn Varsity with custom deep section racing wheels for it. I also picked up a 2001 Schwinn Panther a few weeks ago, it's light as a feather and strong as a horse! Both bikes are all black. I can't wait to get the Sirrus on the road. Still looking for that 53cm mid 80's Takara though :)

    *I like Highwire.
