I didn't notice this until last night, but when the pillar is destroyed and Cybertron is being obliterated all of the Decepticons, warships, etc are sucked back up through the space bridge. Why? None of them came from Cybertron, they were all on the moon. It makes no sense they would all just go away at that moment.

Also, random observation: When Not-Wheeljack Transforms in Chicago the front part of the car is fairly quick and then he kind of rests on his arms as the rest of him slowly transforms.

I think they were sucked up because they were close to the main pillar; they were within the blast radius. When the pillar reversed it's feedback, everything in the air that was close to it was sucked up.

All the things that came to Earth via space bridge were sucked up. There's nothing special about Cybertron

Why should that make sense to anyone, from a scientific standpoint?

From a plot standpoint, sure, but doesn't really make a whole lot of technical sense.

Also, didn't the hole also suck up that fleet that had come from the moon, not through the portal?

Gotta maintain a return signal in case you need to get the hell out of Dodge quick. Maybe it was a little quicker and a lot more involuntary than they'd have preferred, but still.

Cuz enormous transforming robots makes perfect technical sense. Scientifically speaking, where are their fabric seats in robot mode? Or better yet, where do they come from to begin with?

    Does it really matter?

The fleet from the moon DID use the space bridge to transport to Earth. When Sentinel Prime used it by that pool...

If we're talking about it as another example of the movies and their habit of "well, the climax happened 20 seconds ago, quick, everything has to wrap up RIGHT NOW so we have time for Prime's speech and a linkin park song!", sure.

Also, when people have no trouble suspending disbelief of giant robot warfare, but get tripped up by something like this, that's a bad sign of how it was done in the movie.

I think it would have been better to have shown some kind of beacon for transport that recalled the troops, or to state the portal only affects cybertronian matter, or that anything that goes through the bridge is unstable until the portal is closed properly or something. A throwaway line that makes the disappearance of the opposing force at the end a little less... jarring.

(Also in robot mode bumblebee's fabric seats are somewhere on his back)

It's just another one of Hollywood's cliche "convenient wrap-ups", right up there with the way human bodies will snap back into shape when the weapon that mutated them is destroyed, how doors will open or close / lock or unlock dependent on what you NEED them to do when you shoot them, how cars are great shields for good guys being shot at but instantly explode when bad guys hide behind them, how bad guys go down & stay down just with a punch but good guys can still easily use the limbs they were just shot in as long as they acknowledge the wound hurts, etc. It's Bad Writing 101.

Best explanation would be Deus Ex Machina...but once I get the dvd I will watch the movie a million times...so maybe I will bbe able to find a plausible explanation xD

personally i think it was a freak malfuntion when bb destroyed the control pillar. with out the main pillar the other probably went nuts and sucked by anything close to the atmoshpere. as for cybertrons detuction it was probably caused by a power surge with the pillars

I would point out only the ships in the sky were sucked up. Grounded Cons or the ship Wheelie and Brains crashed wasn't sucked back up.

Theory: Decepticon ships have a less reliable version of the Seeker Space Bridge technology.

I think when the Bridge collapsed, it randomly sucked objects nearby to the Pillars.

And it isn't like the whole 'Con army got sucked in, we only saw two Ships ending up like that.
