The Show was Can because of Cartoon Network being a dumbotza to their right of Animated.

The little detail of the show getting canceled tends to do that.

Check the Allspark Almanac vol 2. They have pics of the unproduced prototypes, including Hotshot, which I thought looked really sweet.

There were those within Hasbro obviously pushing for it, but things just didn't work out.

Omega Supreme and the Constructicons were probably the most glaring omissions.

That's not really true. They had a falling out because Hasbro was creating a competing network.

Just dealing with those teams, Hot Shot was at some point in the production process, but got cancelled when retailers stopped ordering the line. Spittor, Strika, Brawn, Red Alert and Cyclonus don't seem to have been in the works to get toys. The only one of those characters with even a slim chance of getting a (stateside) toy release is Blackout, although that's dependent on the increasingly slim chances of Hasbro finding a retailer that wants it as an exclusive.

I recall reading that Hasbro didn't intend to produce an Animated Cyclonus figure because he was similar to the Cyclonus figure from the Universe line.

and how is it CN fault...look at it from their view...they have a deal to show a transformers series with hasbro...then hasbro makes this nice huge press release about making the HUB and all the huppla about it carrying hasbro product lines (cartoons)...

WTF would the cartoon network not drop hasbro like a dead rat?

from their point of view...hasbro was getting ready to stick the knife in their back.

sucks ass that the legal dept of hasbro did not decide to review contracts with the parent company before they announced the HUB release via news agencies....

Hasbro's ineptness on that one cost them a potentially long run for a toy line and a cartoon for kids.

no one else but themselves to blame.

Time was also a factor. It would have taken a year to get new episodes of Animated made, which would have really hurt the line. I do believe the Hub was the biggest factor, though.

It would be nice if some of the unreleased toys, even those that never made it past the prototype stage, could find a home in the Generations line.

Hasbro had three television seasons to produce toys. Plenty of time.

Three seasons that came out over the course of a single year and some change.

Seasons 1 and 2 aired back to back and were only 13 eps each. It's not like Animated was on the air for years. It was literally months.

I think out of all the Animated toys that were never made, the triple changer Megatron really hits me. It's a crime that was never made. I was going to use it as the Animated version of BM Optimal Megatron if it was made.

I find it difficult to believe Hasbro would use plastic and storage
space for a production run nobody ordered
