Poor Slag...first his name gets turned into a useful general swear word, then it gets taken away. Never heard of it being an alternative to slut before, tho. I'm with the 'he'll always be Slag to me' group. --Moony
Again, this makes no sense. According to the USPTO website, Hasbro currently HAS the trademark for Slag. With no opposition.
Wow, why is everybody so upset? It's just his name. Nobody's holding a gun to your head and forcing you to call him Snarl. You can call him Slag. No. Personally, "Snarl" sounds more vicious to me, and "Slag" sounds like some bad pun.
BTW to be sincere, the triceratops bot mode design reminds me more of Snarl's personality than Slag's asshole-ness anyway.
Huh..oh well, I'll still get him no matter what. I might even call him Snarl anyways, as it does sound more like a good guy name than Slag does.
man, I'll be most unhappy if this means we won't be able to get an updated stegosaur Dinobot in the future.
Well, now I'm just hoping that "Snarl" is just a goof-up by whoever at Hasbro put together the press packet. Like others have said, we probably won't know for sure until package samples appear, and maybe not even %100 sure until they hit shelves.
If they don't have the rights to a name, they should make up a new name, not use another classic one. This taints the toy more than some new name.
Hopefully it is a mix-up, because I'd love an Animated Snarl. What could they call him if Slag gets his name? Maybe the two would get switched, but if that happened, it would be to the order of the Downshift / Wheeljack mix-up from AEC.
