This looks awful!
Judging by that one poster, it actually doesn't look that bad.
could be worse....sooo much worse
umm that how can that possibly be face palm worthy? Its really not that bad of a poster, since you cant tell anything about the movie. When the trailer comes out then feel free to face palm and call things awful.
That fucking facepalm meme needs to die because, apparantly, nobody can use it correctly thus making it completely worthless.
As for the poster, yes, it looks like a Smurf. Mission accomplished.
The problem is that they are supposed to fit into a live-action setting. CGI of this quality doesn't quite fit the bill. I'm not outraged or anything, but with over a year to go, they could have tweaked the CGI a lot more prior to releasing this.
I'll judge it once it's composited in. I'd rather this than that abomination they called Garfield
I have about as much hope for this as I did Garfield. Big studios have shown no reason to think they can reinvigorate classic cartoons by blending them with live-action. I suppose it can't be worse than Alvin and the chipmunks...Can it?
Jason Lee is a hard act to follow, Joe.
I think it will be about the same.
i actually liked AATC... not the best movie ever, but it was fun... and never saw garfield, but this could be fun, depending on how they do it... if they do it like Ice Age i'll be happy...those are fun...
edit: just checked the poster and noticed its not by dreamworks...that'll probably take the quality down a few notches...but we'll see...i'm still guessing it'll have a big opening weekend, and sell kids tickets...
I think the fact that they feel they have to sell the Smurfs with a Scarface phrase pretty much sums the whole thing up for me. I'll happily ignore this one.
A poster that uses a overly played-out catchphrase doesn't exactly get my hopes up for the movie it's advertising.
looks like someone hired the Robot Chicken staff for a day job
Who have they cast as Karl Marx?
I'm surprised there hasn't been a live-action Pokémon movie yet.
Don't give them ideas.
You just won the thread.
Only QuantumShock knows for sure, but I thought the facepalm was for the "hate on a movie from one image" approach that the OP had gone for. Remember all those folks who predicted an epic failure based on a picture of a truck?
