I'm in my second week of quiting smoking and amongst the temper tantrums and incessant crying I was wondering where other people on the board fit in when it came to smoking. Hopefully this hasn't been done recently before, I did a couple of different searches to make sure. Myself, I started when I was 16 smoked till I was 26, quit smoking, drinking and other things till I was about 30 then got back into it. I'm 35 and trying to put this behind me again.
Never started, but I'm considering it. I hate being the one left watching the bags and coats in the pub when everyone nips outside for a ***.
never smoked which is a minor miracle as not counting the little kids im the only only one in my family that doesn't
Non-smoker. I can't stand the smell. ...I have no idea what you just said, but it sounded funny. Ahhh, the British vernacular...
I used to smoke like a chimney, but I quit about a year ago. Still miss it sometimes, but oh well. I swear I've never nicked a ***,though.
Shit, forgot about the cigars. One on New Year's Eve a few years ago, one on my birthday a couple of weeks ago.
Can't say I really fit any of those options. I do it occasionally, like approximate 5 cigs a year. Not packs, not cartons, just individual cancer sticks.
I was a moderate smoker, about a pack every three days give or take, for three years in college. I quit for various reasons, and I've been off 'em for the last 15 months. I can't say I, depending on your definition, developed any sort of addiction, but I do see myself starting up again in the future. Carcinogens and nicotine aside, there's something sublime about those 5 minute breaks with lit paper between your lips. I miss filtered Lucky Strikes.
I started smoking when I was 16 and didn't quit until I turned 30. I had tried to quit before then but nothing ever worked. I got hypnotized and haven't smoked a single cigarette in two years! I enjoyed smoking, but I really wanted to stop because of the obvious health concerns.
Was a smoker for almost 10 years. Went cold turkey about 4 years and ago and never looked back. The toughest part is the first couple of months after quitting.
never been a fan of smoking due to seeing my dad get throat cancer from it and my sister get asthma from his second hand smoke. Also, the way he reacted/behaved after having to quit was just ridiculuos.
