I only collect small Legends class TFs and animated activators. I like them for the following reasons:

    1) Nostalgia - as a kid I bought mostly small figures with pocket money, with the occasional bigger toy e.g. Prime at Xmas
    2) A cheaper way of getting the various characters and they take up less space
    3) The price and size give them a good Girlfriend Acceptance Factor and if I like one enough to take it out the box and transform it, it's cheap to get another one to keep in good condition.
    4) The activators are very accurate to the cartoon and the push button instant transform is great.

anyone else happy with a low cost, mini-collection?

So's Aaron of Reprolabels. He's set up his own in-progress Microverse site to document his collection.

I'm skipping on the Legends and Activators stuff, but I do love my Micromasters and quite a few of the Minicons.

I love minicons and micromasters. Its easy to go overboard and end up with a ton of bots though.

Legends are kind of a mixed bag for me, though I do have an odd fascination for Spychangers, and wish there were more. (and not just more repaints)

You talk like that's a bad thing! :p  That's the great thing about microbots; you can have an enormous collection of them, and still not take up much space!

I take it you also have the original Gobot versions of the moulds?

Really got in to the Legends size with the movie releases, and agree there's a lot of fun to be had from them. Looking forward to getting hold of Hound, Jazz, and the other G1 characters that are coming soon...

Yeah, got the Hound, Jazz and G2 Megatron tank - really good detail for such small figures. While I acknowledge that some e.g. Movie Legends Bumblebee aren't a great conversion the new ones look really accurate...

It depends on the mold, some are amazing like the new unvierse legends, but they aren't as accurate or posable or dynamic as the bigger figures, so if there is a bigger version of the character, I'll get that instead of the legends class.
