Watching Movie 5th time I noticed that when Sam (Spike) drives Mikaela home in BB's radio is playing What I've Done by Linkin Park... Did anyone noticed it too?
And small question abaut protoforms... When Ironhide climbed out from the pool his protoform looked same as Optimus... Is every protoform same looks?
(Sorry for bad english :(  )

    1. Yeah, I noticed it.
    2. No, they are different. It was the dark so it was a bit harder to notice the differences between the 2 of them.

I've read that Mike Bay stated that all the protoforms are the same exact model, but are different sizes.

It does make sense (less 3d models to make), but, I doubt that they are exactly the same. Other than size, the heads are probably different, and possibly other details beyond that. In the end, it doesn't realistically matter, lol

There are differences in the protoform designs, the most prominent being the feet. If you compare protoform Optimus to protoform Ironhide, you can plainly see that the feet are different.

Speaking of feet, Ironhide's left foot seems to be broken when he steps out of the pool. It seems to "clank" when he moves it

No, all protoforms are the same, even the heads. They were'nt inportant enough to warrant individual designs.
All the feet are the same. the only thing different about the protoforms are the size.

That would fit in with the "battle scarred veteran thing" really nicely IMO.

I believe they're all the same.

Ben Procter made the point of naming image files of a transformer with their Hasbro-approved character names, not the production name (so the tank is Brawl), but he did not name the protoform robot mode.

But in wikipedia it says: Cybertronian Jet... So that means that Transformers in their home planet were some kind of vehicle there?

    yes.

    but wiki isn't very reliable.

    i consider 2 possibilities:
1.- a robot with 2 or more modes can do a lot more (they had "jobs").
2.- maybe they just used them for war (tanks, armed vehicles) this goes better for decepticons, though.

btw, what i just said isn't canon, just my assumption.

    what a crock of shit!

where has everyone got this idea from that all the protoforms are identical? did none of you even watch the movie and see jazz and ironhide? and how do you explain that according to the comic artwork, the 'protoform' is in fact just their cybertronian form, which all look different to each other? or how do you explain this?

All the Protoforms for the movie are the same. They weren't on screen long enough to warrant separate designs, since they weren't important enough. The only thing that makes them different is their size.

And Megatron is not a Protoform. Protoforms and Cybertronian forms are not the same. Protoforms are what they use to travel through space. On Cybertron, they all look different, but convert to Protoforms for long-term travel.

As I understood it, Megatron was not in his protoform when he was out searching for the Allspark. Could he have travelled all the way to Earth in his robot or Cybertronian jet form? Either way, he had to have been in his "home" (not proto-) form when he crashed on Earth. He was unprepared. The others came to Earth in their "protoforms" or "cometary" forms for atmospheric entry (with their spaceship parked on the moon or Mars or someplace). I take it, though, that their protoforms and their Cybertronian forms are not identical? I was a little confused on that.

Megatron's jet mode allowed him to fly through space. However, not having a protoform mode, he was un-prepared for a landing on an alien world, which is why he got iced. Protoforms and Cybertronian forms are not the same.
