I just finished watching this and have to say it's a pretty great little film. A bit hokey, sure, but very tight thematically and the imagery was very rich throughout. I know some have issues with Danny Boyle's style, but it worked wonderfully here. The editing was just about perfect. Definitely content with spending two hours on this picture!

Anyone seen and liked? If not, go see it!

I just saw it the other day and I must say that it was a fun film. Wouldn't say great, but good nonetheless. Personally I enjoyed it.

Absolutely. Not going to win any awards or anything, but it was a really nice little film particularly in comparison to most of the stuff coming from Hollywood.

A very good film. As for not winning any awards...word is it may contend for Best Picture. And while it's a bit contrived, so was Shakespeare in Love, which won best picture over Saving Private Ryan.

True enough, Omegatron1. Though when doesn't the Academy give the Best Picture Oscar to something very syrupy and not at all nuanced in its story? The old folks who vote love those sorts of pictures.

Just saw it on dvd, great movie. It closes like a good book.
Good soundtrack applications, and brilliantly filmed.

Not my favorite movie, but I liked it

I'm still waiting for it on netflix. I guess long wait is a relative term.

I didn't like it. I felt like I was watching "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and was disappointed the only song-and-dance routine came during the credits.

    I threw popcorn at it.

Yeah, I read about that. I guess the actors didn't get paid very well for a movie that did very well or else the dad would be selling her for more, or hanging on to a money maker.

I dont really have an inclination to watch this, especially if it has any kind of musical bit.

I don't want it redone. It's just another version of Hollywood picking some obscure "...the fuck?" movie to give all these Oscars to. I found all the performances highly boring and almost distracting. When I have to do shit to entertain myself in a theater, that's a bad thing.
