I don't know if there ever has been an official figure like that, but I know there are many knock off figures like that floating around.

Yup, they are called "Prehistory Animals". Old KOs that are actually pretty rare.

Prehistory animals, ancient animals, all yes. But this, this is just someone with a screwdriver, too much time and not enough honesty......

    I.E. parts swap.

I used to have one of these but with a yellow chest. It was equal in quality to a real one.

I wouldn't pay $99 for it, though. It's far from mint. The chrome is terrible.

man those wings look so familiar, I think I had a toy very similar to this as a kid. I think we picked it up at a fleemarket. It could be a parts swap, but the one I had looked very much like a real sludge, but with the wings of course.

They actually made two colors. One in all bronze and one in gray. The gray one which I am guessing this one is suppose to represent should have gray parts on the inside of the tail. If you look closely it is bronze. The tail and wings go to the bronze version. Also, the head is from a Takara / Hasblow version. The real one should have a long snout.

The ancient animal / prehistory animal usually go for about $45. This parts swap is worth considerable less IMO.

You're right, this is totally a parts swap. Isn't worth dick, really.
