Started this guy a while back after seeing spoomans awesome set.My goal was to try and figure a way to hide the hood and doors in bot mode without parts forming. The hood was really easy to come up with.Just glue some hinges and they now fold up under his chest in bot mode.More details on that can be seen here in my old thread http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/436551-classics-bumblebee-wip.html

The hard part for me was figuring out what to do with the doors.I really didn't want to cut them and came to a stand still on him.So I put him a way for a while. Finally I just got the urge to finish him and said screw it,I'll cut the doors. They now hinge behind his feet and fold into the back of them.

So that's it.I know this won't be everyones kup of tea but I'm really happy with the way he turned out.

    Thanks for looking

Were the hinges from any specific figure or did you get them from the hardware store? Great work! Any chance you can post pics of the hinges up under the windshield?

Beautiful work here, Rafe! Been planning to hinge my BB hood parts also and do something with the doors......now that I see what you've done with those doors, I may give that a try! It turned out great, man. It definitely makes this mold 100% better.

    Thanks a lot you guys!!!!!!!!

For the doors first fold they're just regular brass hinges from the hardware store. They were the smallest I could find. For the second fold I used RC airplane hinges. For the hood I used brass hinges that I cut to fit. Here are some more detailed pics

I'm not sure what surprises me more, how simple the fix is, or how much better it looks with them. This is definitely going on my list of things to do . . . once I find the time to do the other 60 custom ideas I want to do . . . maybe I'll bump him up a few dozen places on the list. Thank you very much.

And now that I think about it, I think there might be a way to clean up the windshield hinge. Just a matter of finding the right method. Ideally, there will be something that is either transparent, like the RC hinges you mentioned, or perhaps a much shorter one, so it doesn't cover the glass in car mode.

Fantastic. Kibble and partforming free with two set of hinges. :thumb s

Also picking whether to mod the doors, hood, or both makes for a nice, simple way to vary up the Bee mold even moreso... great for folks who grabbed those heads Venksta was selling recently.
