A short, experimental indie horror game based on the Slender Man mythos.

for those of you who are uninitiated...
The Slender Man (the creature from the mythos)is a long-standing horror meme often depicted as a tall and thin
figure wearing a black suit with necktie and has a pale, featureless face.
Depending on various interpretations the creature can show a wide range of abilities,
ranging from causing memory loss, insomnia, paranoia, coughing fits with or without blood spitting (nicknamed Slendersickness)
to triggering photograph/video distortions and static as well as having teleportation power.

he has appeared in blogs, several youtube video's (ex: Marble Hornets and Tribetwelve) and even been referenced in "Minecraft"

and now he has his very own game!
Slender -- Game Teaser - YouTube
YouTuber AgentParsec has crafted SLENDER, a simple Unity-based horror game that stars the Slender Man.
It's very simple, In it, you'll play as a you’ll play as a nameless woman (going by the sounds of your breath when you run) who must go around a closed in a park at night and collect eight notes. You've got a flashlight, and that's about it...

    and you will be scared!

because when you see him (and you WILL see him)
The more directly the player views Slender Man and the closer he is,
the faster your sanity will drain.

You can download SLENDER (Currently in beta v0.9.1) at...

    Windows Download
    Mac Download

if your brave enough...then have fun :ev:

    Mild bump
I recently started playing this and watching Let's Plays of it on YouTube. For what it is, it's quite well-done. Visually not great but the price is right. Definitely quite scary when playing first hand (especially late at night, with the lights off and wearing headphones).
Unfortunately, I'm not very good at it. I've never got more than 5 notes in the, like, 6 or 7 times I've tried. I've seen some get up to 7 on their second try.

Hmm, even the game's main website appears to be down. Well, if you give it some time, it should come back up (http://slendergame.com). Might have to wait a day or so, no idea why it's not working.

If you manage to find something in the meantime, note that the newest version of the game is v0.9.4. There isn't much difference between the updates (minor graphical and gameplay tweaks that have been made along the way) so even if you nab an earlier build, you'll still get more or less the same experience.

I have no intention of playing this. But here's a video about it.
Rage Quit - Slender - YouTube
Oddly enough, the home phone rung, and it was out of area, and no one answered, ooooh!

Michael and Gavin are like a fucking comedy duo. I seriously imagine Gav just leading into Michael's arms Scooby Doo style during that video.

Some tips I've accumulated through online advice and some of my own experience:
-Slender Man can appear even when you have no pages, though it's rare.
-He gets faster with each page you collect.
-He doesn't move when you're looking at him but the more you see him in plain view, the more static will accumulate and eventually lead to you losing.
-If you spot him, then, while still facing in his direction, move so a tree blocks your sight of him, the static will drop off and you can continue moving. This is a good way to put space between you and him; look in his direction and move backwards.
-There are 10 possible locations for pages and 8 pages in total; it's randomly assigned each time you play. When you've found two interest points that don't have pages, you'll know that all the rest of them will.
-Slender Man can teleport. From what I can tell, he does this when you look in his direction for too long (and with each consecutive page, you'll have less time to look towards him). That static glitch you see seemingly at random? That means he teleported.
-When you have 7 pages, Slender Man moves faster than you so you absolutely need to turn around when he gets close enough to startle you (when you hear the loud "DUN!"); startling gives you the ability to sprint for a short period, allowing you to outrun him. This can be tricky since if you turn around too early, he won't be close enough and you won't get the boost, and if you turn too late, he'll be close enough that it's auto-game over.
-This is just a personal tip (I've seen people do the exact opposite and still manage): Try to go to the 'complex' (the bathroom tile building in the center of the map) early on. It's potentially the hardest location to find a page in so it's probably a good idea to go there before Slendy is breathing down your neck.
-I think this is pretty obvious but just in case you haven't made the connection, the ambient noise gets added to with each odd page you collect (the 1st page gives you a rhythm of thuds, the 3rd adds a creepy humming and so on).

I've been having trouble playing Slender as well on my laptop(currently 4 years old going on 5) The only other PC game I've played is Portal on Steam since that's free and that runs fine for me.
